The “American Century” is over. That’s what retired Navy Commander Bobby Jones declares on this weeks edition of Anchor Watch, as Donald Trump keeps dragging us further and further into a war that no one wanted.
“World War I allowed us to be an international power on the stage, World War II allowed us to become the international power. … It’s been this cliff, and now we’re coming down fast. It took 125 years to gain, in less than a year-and-a-half, we’ve watched it be destroyed,” says Jones.
And now, Trump is now threatening to attack Kharg Island, along with other Iranian energy facilities, if a deal isn’t reached soon. With the No Kings protests last weekend and midterms on the horizon, Bobby and Sam Osterhout wonder how MAGA will try to rebrand the president’s desperate threats as a win for this administration.
