This weekend, there was another record-breaking No Kings protest, with eight million people showing up to more than 3,300 planned events across the country.
And you could tell that Trump is still irked by it, with officials trying to write it off as “Trump Derangement Syndrome.”

Susan J. Demas and Sam Osterhout recapped this weekends protests on The Weekly Assignment and welcomed the Pretty Informed Girls Meg Klink and Jessie Beyer to talk about demonstrations they attended in New York City and outside Boston.
Susan and Sam also spoke with Jessie and Meg about their social media presence. Connecting with audiences on Instagram and TikTok isn’t only about informing their followers about the news of the day, but also providing valuable resources in how to fight back.
“You need to grab their attention and you have to make it interesting or funny or in some way, get them to pay attention to what’s going on. So for us, it’s breaking it up in a way that seems digestible,” says Meg. “We never want people to look at us and feel the sense of fear that like, ‘Oh my God, this person’s about to say the most horrible thing to me and I’m feeling overwhelmed already by seeing their face.’ And I think people have that sometimes with news anchors. They’re used to seeing them and they’re like, this person’s going to deliver something that’s going to make me very upset. So we try to give them some sort of sense of normalcy in their approach to the news.”
