On his first day back in office last year, Donald Trump signed an Executive Order that took aim at the 14th Amendment of the Constitution, in an attempt to limit — and possibly even completely end — birthright citizenship for anyone born in the United States. Today, the Supreme Court heard arguments on this question — and Trump was in attendance.
Kim Wehle, a lawyer and professor who writes The Little Law School with Kim Wehle on Substack, joined The Frank Figliuzzi Show to give an explainer on the case and break down today’s oral arguments. She also gave her blunt assessment of Trump’s chances.
“Trump’s going to lose. I think that’s the bottom line. It’s problematic that we’re even having a conversation as to whether the 14th Amendment actually counts as a law in the United States,” Kim said.
