Pete Hegseth’s Pentagon released a revised list of religions last week. The headlines focused on the fact that Mormons didn’t make the cut, and the media (and social media) had a field day with the fight between Sen. Mike Lee (who’s a Mormon) and the other Christian nationalists in the administration.
But that fight isn’t the story. It’s much deeper, and much darker.
