Americans hate the war in Iran. And yet Donald Trump is asking for $200 billion for the war effort. In case you’re keeping track, that amount is roughly enough to fight the war for a year.
A year. He and the brilliant people he’s surrounded himself with believe that this war will stretch on for a year. There’s a great chance that by the time you read this, troops will have been committed to the war (despite the fact that Trump keeps claiming the war is over and we’ve won).
As Rick Wilson and Andrew Wilson break down in this week’s episode of Behind the Numbers, we don’t like the war and we absolutely hate the idea of sending troops.
So, of course, Trump is sending them.
One reason we hate the war, beyond just hating the war itself? It’s crushing our economy. As you can see below, Trump rightly gets the blame.
So how low can he go? Watch this episode to find out. There are rumblings that even the numbers we talk through today don’t represent just how unpopular Trump is. With any luck, we’ll be talking about that next week, and not American casualties in Iran.
