Journalist and author Andrea Pitzer has written about many key events over her career, but none as deeply terrifying and alarming as the history behind concentration camps.
She joined Edwin Eisendrath on It’s The Democracy, Stupid to offer a dire warning of how that history is repeating itself with the Trump administration building detention centers across the country, like Dilley in Texas where many children have been held. And while enormous damage has been done, Andrea still believes that we have an opportunity still to turn the corner on Trump’s authoritarian agenda.

And be sure to read her 2017 book, One Long Night: A Global History Of Concentration Camps, to learn more about the horrific history behind these camps and why we can’t let them continue to operate here.
