Anti-Jesus Christians | John Fugelsang Joins Sam Osterhout

The Christian right is wrong.

John Fugelsang joined Sam Osterhout to talk about his book, Separation of Church and Hate: A Sane Person’s Guide to Taking Back the Bible From Fundamentalists, Fascists, and Flock-Fleecing Frauds.

You might know John from his SiriusXM Progress show, Tell Me Everything, or from TV, or from appearances on cable news, or CSI … or … or … well, he’s everywhere. And the subversion and weaponization of Christianity is deeply personal to him. Before they married, his mother was a Catholic nun and his father a Franciscan brother. They exchanged one vow for another, as it happened, but never left the faith. John was raised to understand the words of Jesus to be instructions for how best to care for each other.

White Christian nationalists like Pete Hegseth not only take the mythologies from the Bible literally, they use them to coerce and control, and to justify their catastrophic policies.

So. What can we do? How do we connect with those we love (or, you know, our acquaintances) who have fallen into the grips of Christo-fascism?

It’s not easy, but John has a plan.

Watch Sam and John break it down, and let us know what you think in the comments.
