Why Democracy Demands Accountability | Author Minh Ly Speaks with Sam Osterhout

Accountability is in short order these days.

As the bombs fall on Iran, it’s especially important to remember that our democracy hinges on whether or not we — the people — can hold our leaders accountable.

If we can’t, then we get endless wars, hostility towards social programs, failed policies, grift, and a justice department more intent on protecting pedophiles in positions of power than their victims.

Professor Minh Ly’s new book, Answering to Us: Why Democracy Demands Accountability, lays out the case for a more rigorous approach to accountability.

He joined Sam Osterhout to explain. It’s an important conversation that we all need to be having.
