What You Need to Know About Trump's Budget | David Pepper & Lisa Senecal

Lisa Murkowski can get bent.

The budget bill is sitting in the House as I write this, like a rotting fish carcass on an old newspaper in a desert gas station without air conditioning.

It stinks.

and met up to discuss the implications of the bill, both through the lens of the day-to-day effects for real people, and the political implications for those who are pushing it.

This is our weekly series with the always insightful David Pepper. If you don’t subscribe to Pepperspectives, you ought to. And if you don’t subscribe to Lincoln Square … I don’t even know what to say (except — you should!)

We’re all getting ready for a much-needed 4th of July break — this year it feels particularly necessary. We hope that you are able to take a breather, too. We’ve got our eye on the budget bill and will keep you updated with any news.

Be sure to check back. But, really, get outdoors! See friends! Eat something delicious. We have a long road ahead, and we all need to take some space to recharge.

David and Lisa will be back next Thursday at 12p ET.

ONE LAST THING! David’s has a new edition of his book, Saving Democracy: A User’s Manual, out now.

If you want to know why you need to read this right now, listen to Anne Applebaum:

In Saving Democracy, David Pepper explains the tactics of authoritarians in America and offers strategies to fight back. For anyone who wants to know what to do and how to make a difference, this book provides a practical and badly needed road map.”

You can find more info on how to buy the book, plus an excerpt, here:
