'Thoughts and Prayers' Are National Policy | Andra Watkins & Lisa Senecal LIVE

From FEMA cuts to concentration camps, Project 2025 is here. And it's terrible.

Every week, Lincoln Square Founding Editor Lisa Senecal and Andra Watkins talk about Christian nationalism, Project 2025, and the Trump regime.

We’ve all been watching the devastating Texas floods with more than 100 lives lost, and recovery just beginning. But let’s look at how Christian nationalist politicians are responding: not with real help, but with the tired “thoughts and prayers” routine, right after gutting disaster relief. Andra, who’s been sounding the alarm about Project 2025 for ages, lays out what these politicians really mean when they say “pray” — and it’s not what most people think.

Project 2025 called for dismantling FEMA and the National Weather Service, and now, that’s exactly what’s happening. Lisa and Andra don’t hold back on the hypocrisy: Politicians who cut the safety net, then act shocked when disaster strikes, using it to push their religious agenda.

Then there’s the tent camps in the Everglades in Florida — yes, concentration camps, and yes, they wrote it all down in Project 2025. It’s not just undocumented people being swept up; U.S. citizens are there, too, in horrific conditions.

But it’s not all doom and gloom. Andra shares practical ways to build real community: get off your screens, connect with your neighbors, start a garden, protect the vulnerable, and get smart about digital security. And she talks about the “dignity of work” talking point you’ll be hearing everywhere soon — and how it’s just more Christian nationalist dogma dressed up as policy.

If you’re looking for hope, it’s here: in each other, in community, and in refusing to give up. As always, Lisa and Andra are here to call it like they see it, and to remind you that you’re not alone in this fight.
