Last week, Donald Trump fired Attorney General Pam Bondi from her post.
“I was elated, honestly, because not as if I believe that this is going to be, there’s someone better in place. And we know Todd Blanche is in there temporarily. But I was happy because I feel like our advocacy is working. I think it’s working,” said Jess Michaels, who came forward after being sexually assaulted by Jeffrey Epstein.
Jess joined Susan J. Demas on Lincoln Square to talk about Bondi’s departure and the disappointment she stills feels after the former AG repeatedly refused to meet with survivors — a hostility that was captured in the image above at the congressional hearing last month and will define her legacy.
“She knew exactly what she was doing. And in that room, she dehumanized us and she made us feel invisible. Now, I didn’t expect anything less from her, but it still hurts to be dehumanized in front of the world. In front of the world,” Jess said.
