It all comes down the truth of one of my favorite adages; We do not see things as they are. We see them as we are.”

Trump’s greatest strength has been his ability to understand and to exploit that. At the same time, he’s utterly failed to understand another equally valid adage, one from the book he claims to understand so well: He that troubleth his own house shall inherit the wind.

Fact based thinking doesn’t appear to be the first reach for humans. We prefer confirmation bias that supports the soup of beliefs, emotions, stories, and fantasies that live in our heads. If pressed by circumstances we will, and belatedly, reach for facts. That, I would suggest, is why science is not a first option for many, and even in science there is confirmation bias.

As far as crime is concerned, there's one epicenter at 1600 Pensylvania Avenue since January 20, 2025:

- Continuous hate speech via one so-called "social" platform;

- Continuous and organised killing by neglect in ICE facilities;

- Open corruption and emoluments.

So that in the end, for overseas tourists considering a trip to the US feels like China, Russia, North-Corea... What a GREAT America to celebrate 250 these days!

Thank you for the article, swampy DOJ, White House staff. Swampy DOD. Now it’s a swampy reflecting pool that he chose to have a blue flag in this. It’s very green.
