What Did I Do For MY Democracy? The Answer Rests With YOU

We as citizens have an obligation to speak out against the federal government

Expect and insist free and fair elections

DO NOT become cynical about elections

Phone calls matter to legislators

Yard signs matter

Everybody has a townsquare where we can make our voices heard So Engage Don’t shy away from difficult conversations Let them know how you feel about people disappearing off the streets is not OK Taking away medical care from our unfortunate citizens for tax breaks for the uberwealthy

"Flood The Zone". Clever.

Effectively 'pushing back', or as I prefer to call it, 'fucking their shit up beyond all reality', will require some new skills for Dems. One appears to be learning how to sniff out weakness. The GOP, and especially Trump, are good at this. The Goody-Two-Shoes party, not so much.

Pick something and analyze it. Look for a hurtful wedge and a cudgel. Like Gov. Abbot's response to the 'surprise' question a reporter asked about a possible link between the cuts in NWS and emergency services and flood deaths.

The genius lost his goddamn mind. He blurted out some soliloquy about the virtues of football team spirit. He was babbling that 'only losers ask questions like that'. He knows he's wrong, he's trapped, he's on the ropes. Take him out back and beat him like a bad dog. And that's just one thing. There are now hundreds. The BBB is a goldmine.

To quote a fellow Texan: LBJ said, talking about a weak competitor:

"He's thin boys. Thin as piss on a rock."

Sorry missed the live chat. I liked what David brought up about Democrats finding some very good messengers and have them out in front of a camera or microphone every day. I actually have been wondering about this, but I didn't know how to say it. David lifts it up clearly. Yes, speaker or speakers need to be authentic, down to earth, and someone people like to listen to. Thanks Lisa and David. Take care.

Trump said he could shoot someone on 5th Ave and nothing would happen. With the GOP majority in congress and a Trump Supreme Court, maybe he can. Who cares about broken promise after promise after promise.
