Thank you for the 100 day reminder of how horrible trump and his fascist lite admin has been to date. From the best economy in the world to a best case scenario of stagflation and diminished govt services and responses to crisis. In my neck of the woods, gas prices just popped 30-50 cents a gallon. The pain is real and yet so many have yet to feel the sting who voted for the orange bloat. That time is near, and it will be financially painful. To say nothing of the damage to the constitution, democracy, and the rule of law.

I, thankfully, left the WaPo and NYT during the 2024 election cycle as corporate media sanewashed a lunatic while pummeling a bright, articulate, intelligent, personable woman. But, I should not have been surprised by the coverage of the Hannibal Lecter mumbling moron, since Les Moonves of CBS muttered years earlier that trump might be bad for America but he was great for CBS. Corporate media would buy the rights to see trump shoot someone on 5th Ave to prove he wouldn't lose a vote if it meant a good ratings night. I can see the gleeful looks of corporate media execs pumping trump as a tough love guy as he sends US born children to their deaths by illegally deporting them. I can hear the latest trump crony on CNN saying, trump might be bad for children with Stage 4 cancer, but he's great for CNN.

Leaving corporate media behind was a great decision as I increased my appetite for independent journalism, including Lincoln (which I followed for years), Meidas, Paul Krugman Joyce Vance, Heather Cox Richardson, Timothy Snyder, Harry Litman, etc. It has been a wonderful and calming experience to read and watch true professionals apply their craft and dig in their heels against the mad king.

The efforts of reliable, honest and fact based independent journalism is needed more now than ever. Keep up the great work!

You list “mistakenly banishing Abrego Garcia”. How do you know it was “mistaken”? Because that’s what they said, and they never lie? PLEASE say “whom they CLAIM to have removed to El Salvador by mistake”. One of my frustrations with the media is that they lazily adopt the language of the regime, which allows the regime to define the meaning of the words and control the narrative.
