"Trump’s first 100 days, it’s the endless loop of horrors" Worst is yet to come. Donald "The Beast" Trump is building a wall once again. Colossal tariff wall that is the beginning of the end for the system of down. At first the beast will pull the plug out of the global economy. The worst financial crisis of human history will pull a swarm of the banks underwater and the bank run begins. Then the beast will collapse a mountain of debt shattering the backbone of the monetary system causing a systemic risk to realize. Finally the beast will cast American citizens into a system slavery under the name of Ronald Wilson Reagan, just to "honor his legacy" count the number. After the destruction a new world order will be established in the US. And the Golden Age begins from the ruins of the world wide collapse. All of the system slaves will love it. No more cash - just digital transactions. No more traditional criminal activity. No more tax evasion. No more transactions without the "all seeing eye". Outcasts will hate the world without freedom, hope and privacy. To cover up the mess and distract the public by smoke and mirrors, the beast will engage in a war with Iran. Lies and deceit, corruption and decay, dancing on the graves will continue. Until; Black hole sun, won't you come, won't you come... I want to play a game. Time has come to opt out of the empire of filth. Live or die...

Nazis and Power Grabbing: Arming the MIilitia

Hitler rose to power due to the hyperinflationary period of post WW1 He was the people's choice to lead Germany to nirvana and out of the economic catastrophe that they were in

The Orange Cheeto and his Gestapo lied to the American electorate to garner power and now it's a power down(putting power into the hands of WE the people) using Marc Dunkelman's phraseology much like Hitler did And the analogy holds that part of Cheeto's promise was to deal with inflation

And one could argue that both Cheeto wants to use the power to ascend the uberwealthy and influential and make the subservient middle class powerless ie get rid of power up movements(giving power to elected officials)

There is only one way out according to Dunkelman's model and that's exactly what's happening as did in the late 1700's in France The people took to the streets protesting against the monarchy who lost their heads literally

This is why the most recent Cheeto Executive Order to begin the process of martial law by arming local law enforcement with military weapons is a step toward trying to quell the street protests happening across the country much like what Hitler did with the Gestapo creating a police state

Nonviolent protests worked for India's independence in the 1940's and for the civil rights movements in the 1960's

It will work again now

Great and frightening read Susan. Thank you. I cringe at the lack of morality.

Great to read you again. Susan! Always appreciated your take on what was happening in Michigan back in the day. Glad you have landed at Lincoln Square! BTW the MI governor seems to be miscalculating with her cozy and not too cozy dance with the felon in chief. I prefer the clear position of Gov. Pritzker!

You list “mistakenly banishing Abrego Garcia”. How do you know it was “mistaken”? Because that’s what they said, and they never lie? PLEASE say “whom they CLAIM to have removed to El Salvador by mistake”. One of my frustrations with the media is that they lazily adopt the language of the regime, which allows the regime to define the meaning of the words and control the narrative.

After I left the comment above, I heard a part of Trump’s interview from last night that I had not previously heard. Trump said (this isn’t word for word, but it’s close): “The lawyer who said it was a mistake had been here a long time. We did not hire him, and he has been fired. He should not have said it was a mistake.” That may have been just Trump’s refusal to admit that he ever makes mistakes, but it could have been an acknowledgment that, at a minimum, they just didn’t care what the court had ordered. Incompetence or defiance/malice? You be the judge.

Thank you for the 100 day reminder of how horrible trump and his fascist lite admin has been to date. From the best economy in the world to a best case scenario of stagflation and diminished govt services and responses to crisis. In my neck of the woods, gas prices just popped 30-50 cents a gallon. The pain is real and yet so many have yet to feel the sting who voted for the orange bloat. That time is near, and it will be financially painful. To say nothing of the damage to the constitution, democracy, and the rule of law.

I, thankfully, left the WaPo and NYT during the 2024 election cycle as corporate media sanewashed a lunatic while pummeling a bright, articulate, intelligent, personable woman. But, I should not have been surprised by the coverage of the Hannibal Lecter mumbling moron, since Les Moonves of CBS muttered years earlier that trump might be bad for America but he was great for CBS. Corporate media would buy the rights to see trump shoot someone on 5th Ave to prove he wouldn't lose a vote if it meant a good ratings night. I can see the gleeful looks of corporate media execs pumping trump as a tough love guy as he sends US born children to their deaths by illegally deporting them. I can hear the latest trump crony on CNN saying, trump might be bad for children with Stage 4 cancer, but he's great for CNN.

Leaving corporate media behind was a great decision as I increased my appetite for independent journalism, including Lincoln (which I followed for years), Meidas, Paul Krugman Joyce Vance, Heather Cox Richardson, Timothy Snyder, Harry Litman, etc. It has been a wonderful and calming experience to read and watch true professionals apply their craft and dig in their heels against the mad king.

The efforts of reliable, honest and fact based independent journalism is needed more now than ever. Keep up the great work!
