I've said with regards to the Alligator Alcatraz that it's horrible and I don't truly think that the fact that they said the camp could with stand a Cat 2 Hurricane. But what if the Hurricane is over a Cat 2, in fact most Hurricanes are above Cat 2! A Cat 4 will blow them down. How corrupt and sad of the conditions that are there. Truly NOT Christian!
You're far to generous. The guv'nah waived ALL permitting and standards requirements for the construction. Post-holes being dug spouted water because the water table there is approximately zero inches.
- A Cat 2 starts at 96mph sustained. With gusts, this is a shit-show.
- The Preserve, where the camp is located, is subject to storm surges from the south.
- No breaks were designed for wind or surges.
- No hydrology work or mitigation was done. At all.
- The Preserve is closed for 60 days a year as a DEFAULT because of weather risk. This is, of course, before any specific weather events.
Mother Nature is looking at this cardboard play-fort and saying "oh! Chew-toy!".
I leave it to others to opine on the probability for loss of life.
