First thank you for calling this out. The people who are swarming around and bowing to Trump have one, two, or three flaws. They are either, 1. greedy/power hungry, 2. hateful 3. ignorant or all three period. I'm thankful he saved your life, but his true nature is now showing. Then again if he were as decent as you thought back then maybe he would have gone to Zurich to stay with you instead of going to a museum. Pretty self f...ing serving of him.

I love you, Stuart, but what you don't seem to realize is that there is a through line from creating that contemptuous windsurfing ad, which excoriated Kerry for committing the unpardonable sin of changing his mind about a war that came to be regarded as a disastrous mistake, but was nonetheless consistently pursued by George W. Bush, to helping Trump with his destruction of Washington and our democracy.
I hear you. All but a sister and a cousin, everyone in my family is a mega-trumper. It's so disappointing and I can never look at them in the same way again.

Explaining the wider political damage caused by Trump through the lens of your personal story brings the loss and betrayal home to so many families. Lifelong friends we thought we knew are gone. It’s a sad lonely time.

People who have no moral compass will always capitulate to $$ and power. It's simply expedient to do so. But those who succumb will face their karma eventually, be it in this lifetime or those lifetimes to come.
No one escapes the karma that their souls create. They think no one is watching. That no one will care but unfortunately for them, the universe is watching and tabulating the check and the waiter in the sky has the bill and it will come due.
It turns out that having a moral compass that some call virtue or leading a good life, has some relevance here. It keeps one on a path that leads to enlightenment or the place where $$ and power are pointless and/or meaningless. That what really matters is the Truth. That what is important is doing the right thing always. That's when one becomes a soul in the light....a bodhisattva. For those without a moral compass that is not even part of their stream of consciousness and for them many lifetimes away because their actions have a ripple effect that impacts the entire universe and their own karma.

Trump obviously offered Yoshi something no one else could give him, that’s scary when you thought you knew someone. On a different topic, what is all that fake gold stuff glued to the wall in the White House? Is that Trump’s idea of classy decor or is he more comfortable in a Hollywood style brothel, how about flocked red walls, Donald?
