I just set and looked at the blank white comment box. I believe I said Thank You. This morning, I wanted to write this: All day Sunday my head filled with remembrances of family and friends that were special in my life. I knew I had to act. You’ve written a beautiful love letter to your children and your father. I only disagree - slightly - with one of your observations, I can’t agree with both. You say correctly that there is no “why” for the death of your first daughter. Something went wrong and you would not have been able to stop it.
BUT, the assassination in Minnesota was a completely preventable occurrence. The assassin planned the murders. He could have chosen not to do so. From where I sit in my apartment in Highland Park, Il, I am only three block from where 7 innocent people were gunned down on the July Fourth, 2022, parade.

I understand what you are saying. I would suggest that those are the how, just as we eventually learned the most likely cause for Vilte was a partial detachment of the umbilical cord. The how is often right there in front of us; the deeper why, which is what I was trying to get at, is often simply what we can take. I'm glad you asked why you're taking this. We have to address something far more profound in all of us (and too many of us). I will say this: I am proud to stand with you for democracy. We likely have different whys for that -- and perhaps other places we would be in regular times.

In seeing the articles that are coming out about how the Nazis aka GOP corrupted the 2024 election I'm thinking that unconsciously the American electorate was cheated out of a free and fair election in 2024 and they are pissed not only because of the authoritarian regime but that they never voted for this bullshit that Trump is pulling as a Unitary Executive ie dictator
