As an Iowa voter, I sincerely thank you for starting off your On The Ground series with such a great discussion.

Two points to toss in: A shout out to the state Democratic Party chair, Rita Hart, who is doing such great work trying to increase coordination amongst the candidates in these races. I admire Ms. Hart so much— she’s the one who lost that Congressional race in 2020 by SIX votes to the despicable Mariannette Miller-Meeks. If that kind of loss had happened to me, I would still be in a cave somewhere licking my wounds, but Rita Hart has made the choice to lead the state back to relevance!

Also, thanks for drawing attention to the Attorney General race and an excellent candidate, Nate Willems. Our current MAGA AG is an absolute cringeworthy disgrace: I’ll never get over the humiliation I felt in 2024, watching Iowa AG Brenna Bird standing in Manhattan along with bunch of red tie wearing GOP politicians, decrying the mean “weaponization of law” against poor innocent Donnie. An Attorney General impugning the American crown jewel: our system of justice! I hope for a future in which Ms. Bird is disbarred for her willingness to lie for trump’s sake.

I thought it was a very good discussion. Excellent discussion to be more exact. Really exciting to hear from people on the ground and in the know. Have one small suggestion. Sometimes I got lost in Iowa. When discussing districts could the location of the districts be indicated on the little icon shape of the state of Iowa. Thanks, Laura Belin and Joe T.

First this looks like it's going to be a fantastic podcast show!! I do think if someone from Lincoln Sq. reads this the time listed for this show in the Weekly Schedule said 1 p.m. ET, however it did not start then. I'm in MT and that was 11 a.m. I waited until noon MT and it didn't come on. I'm really glad I can watch it after the fact because it was a spirit lifting experience making me believe the Dems have a better chance of taking both the house and the senate.....thank you, gracias, danke, merci, a dank!

Hi, Roxanne. Actually out Eastern Time, for once it did start at 1 p.m. I wonder what happened. Sometimes things don't show up when listed...

Thank you, Mr. Trippi and Ms Belin you have quite an extended knowledge of Iowa politics.Kansas may have forgotten about a pro democracy movement. I believe in civility, and I live in the biggest county of Ks, Montgomery. Named after a former jay hawker. Again many thanks for this podcast.
