Keep in mind: it took from 1865 to 1920 for women to get the vote that black men got (on paper).

Great discussion, Stewart, with Beschloss. I sincerely appreciate your feelings and willingness to share with all of us over the betrayal you feel of your long time Rep acquaintance that moved to the dark Trump side. Re. the reminder that 5/8 is VE Day. This washed over me - my father served in WWII, in the South Pacific, suffered with PTSD the remainder of his life. He and his service to our country has been betrayed by every single American that voted for Trump. I also feel betrayed by every single Democrat (I am a Dem) in Congress that votes with/for any nominee put forth and for any bill in this authoritarian regime. They are NOT meeting this moment in time. Thank you for the platform to air my thoughts and opinion.

I stumbled across this episode. I was riveted by the discussion of Finland. My Finnish great grandfather was a textile worker in Hyvinkaa who emigrated three times with his family to Massachusetts. His eldest daughter was Katri Lammi, who was part of a large group of leftist American and Canadian Finns invited to the Soviet Union in the 1930s. Stalin turned on them on the late 1930s. My great aunt’s partner was executed and she was held for years and died a broken woman in the late 1950s. She was a singer. Recently a family member tracked me down and we confirmed that my great aunt was Katri Lammi. My husband and I travelled to Helsinki and I got to explore my Finnish heritage, its relationship to Russia, the strength of its people, etc. Etc. My grandmother never spoke much about Finland or her sister. Or Massachusetts. It was a revelation to me. Now I have more to look at.

Worst is yet to come. Donald "The Beast" Trump is building a wall once again. Colossal tariff wall that is the beginning of the end for the system of down. At first the beast will pull the plug out of the global economy. The worst financial crisis of human history will pull a swarm of the banks underwater and the bank run begins. Then the beast will collapse a mountain of debt shattering the backbone of the monetary system causing a systemic risk to realize. Finally the beast will cast American citizens into a system slavery under the name of Ronald Wilson Reagan, just to "honor his legacy" count the number. After the destruction a new world order will be established in the US. And the Golden Age begins from the ruins of the world wide collapse. All of the system slaves will love it. No more cash - just digital transactions. No more traditional criminal activity. No more tax evasion. No more transactions without the "all seeing eye". Outcasts will hate the world without freedom, hope and privacy. To cover up the mess and distract the public by smoke and mirrors, the beast will engage in a war with Iran. Lies and deceit, corruption and decay, dancing on the graves will continue. Until; Black hole sun, won't you come, won't you come... I want to play a game. Time has come to opt out of the empire of filth. Live or die...

What if Trump’s crypto currency corruption enables him to become wealthy enough that he no longer feels indebted to Putin for bailing him out all these years? Is it even possible that he can then do right by Ukraine and push back on Russia?
