I gave up on all professional sports, which includes college, a long time ago, after being a rabid fan for decades. The deep rot is nothing new. I don't miss any of it at all, not a bit.

Thanks, Randy. I thought I wrote that, but I can, too. It's not about the game anymore. It's only the fleeting glory, if it can be called even that.

What’s Fueling Gold and Silver Rise In Price??

Anyone paying attention to the economy during “businessman” Cheeto’s disastrous tariff debacle has seen meteoric rise in gold and silver now both at record highs ever Even major banks such as JP Morgan are now recommending increasing the portfolio holdings to 20% of precious metals compared to 10% 6m ago

The initial rise in both metals was related to the loss of the purchasing power of the dollar with gold going from $1800/oz to $3600/oz But now the rise is related to loss of liquidity, that is, globally many many people and institutions including central banks chasing a limited amount of gold and silver

Why is there a lack of liquidity? Part of the reason is that China is holding onto 30% of the global above ground gold and silver stores Since 1982 China has silently been growing their gold reserves to now an estimated 75K tonnes

But it doesn’t stop there China has also cornered the rare earth metals market as well leaving the US searching for these metals necessary for all forms of advanced technology

Meanwhile,Cheeto continues to bully China and make American industries and consumers pay This will not end well Get out of dollars

There's no question, lying is rampant and even acceptable these days, which is both disgusting and frightening. Great post. About the football thing: although I'm not a Georgia fan, I'm inclined to believe Coach Smart's explanation that the Auburn players were clapping, and he was trying to call the refs' attention to it. Makes more sense than lhis frantically calling for a timeout then pretending otherwise, which makes none.

I don’t know. I remember when I was a kid in 1978 and Woody Hayes punched an opposing team player who had just intercepted the OSU QB. So how are things worse now? If anything the players have more rights now.

They should have more rights. No player should be the victim of physical abuse. Hays went too far. Thought he was king of Ohio State. But he went too far and got fired.

I remember that game. I saw that punch. No drop about it. This was 1978 Gator Bowl. Good ol' Woody on the day after game was immediately dismissed as head coach by Ohio State University. Sad in to a storied career. So his punch had consequences.

The elevation of fraud and defrauding your opponent by any and every means for advantage has become a national pasttime. And sadly people ARE applauding. The fish rots from the head.

What have we come to...Is Robert Putnam really onto something when he talks about needing to join groups again to re-establish shame, accountability, moral courage, community values? Please keep writing...

Smart, he of the $13 million annual paycheck, flat-out lied, and he lied for the whole world to see/hear.

That is plain wicked, and we have had words to describe such behavior ever since I understood English; lying is nothing new in my universe.

Ask Cain, he of Cain and Abel fame.

I remember the first time I got caught lying by my grandfather when I did something in the hay barn I should not have done.

So Coach Smart lying to gain advantage in this time of Trumpty is not a new thing, just a little more obvious, on display for the rest of American TV humanity to see and hear.

It starts from the top, both leadership and rot. With our government lying all the time, it is natural that lower levels pick up on it. And, like with our government, the refs let him get away with the lie.
