Education should be promoted for its intrinsic value. It teaches us to learn in self-directed ways. It teaches us to think critically. It teaches us to be curious and open-minded. It teaches us to explore our world - if not physically, then from an armchair.
I have 4 degrees (including a doctorate) in 3 different fields. Although I’m not doing what I originally trained to do, none of this was a waste. My life is richer for it. I would wish this gift upon everyone. (I’m a baby boomer, so got my education when it was still affordable.)
Either this regime does not care that they are creating a less competent society, or it is deliberate. As Noam Chomsky reminds us, ignorant people are easier to control.

I had three teachers in my family. My maternal grandmother, who went to indigenous school in Canada 🇨🇦. My beloved mother who raised me from , Minnesota. Now my older sister. She is supposed to be retired, I bet she is substituting for children so the can receive their education.
Where is no name grandpa? 😂 😂 😂. I was terribly disappointed when, POTUS, disbanded the department of education. How are children supposed to get their education. The teachers are supposed to teach them how to read books 📕, history and science. Project 2025. Could that be POTUS 2.0? There is nothing wrong with public education. I’m sure 👍 there will always be some people that are willing to give their kids an education. This must be pretty common for them. I always was taught the three R’s. Accept. Arithmetic is spelled with an A not an R. Cruelty is wrong. Children need their education.

Kudos to Stuart Stevens. I watch all of his podcasts, and he is responsible for my becoming a member of Lincoln Square because of his sheer honesty about his previous contributions to supporting the Republican Party and promoting its candidates for office. His interviews are a pleasure to watch. He's one of only a couple of interviewers who actually listens attentively to his guests, without constant interruption, and has a meaningful, thoughtful conversation with them. I love people who listen.
I am astonished at how few educated people knew what was in project 2025.
Demolishing the dept of education is not about allowing only white people to have access to quality education. Rather its about limiting education for all - look at how much had been removed from history! E.g. trying to remove the two impeachments of the 34xfelon, removing Jackie Robinson from baseball, etc.
Attacking and ending department of education will effectively end special education supports in many states. It ends support for post secondary training and education programs for all but the independently wealthy. They would never admit it, but they are killing the American dream of anyone who works hard can become anything they want to be. They are ending accountability so the level goes down and we as a group becomes less.
