Watching the committee responses in some of the hearing, I began to wonder about the protagonist's state of mind here. How many actually believe that their actions to disenfranchise a portion of the population is a 'once and for all' event? Their responses to challenges are sounding shorter and more absolutist... which could be a psychological tell that they are seeing the limits to their unbounded 'power'.
Voting plus something else could change the direction of all this. The catastrophist formulations spewing forth from liberal bed-wetters is that the fascist Right has sewn everything up into a hermetically-sealed system of self-dealing that cannot be breached. But check this out: their single-minded pursuit of absolute power has been replaced by the high-anxiety necessity of retaining that power while using the same incompetents to do so. The Left, however, now has the single-minded pursuit of breaking that power solely in its sights.
Hardly a Pollyanna, I have no illusions at all that 'everything will work out fine'. But the road to a Thousand Year Reich is littered with rocks and boobytraps. As well as outside interests who have other... objectives in mind. After all, the last one lasted 33 years or so.
Partisan redistricting is BAD. Once elected, reps are sent back to Congress longer than is good. Accountability is weakened. It is not benign when contest for ideas requires contests that are meaningful.
All PEOPLE should have the same unalienable rights. WOMEN can and should be allies in all of this. The 3/5ths rule was included so the southern states would be smaller than their population. The northern colonies wanted this. RACISM is not the “fault” of the southern states alone. That is a myth.
VA and CA both have state laws requiring “independent” districts. They had to put the repeal of that law (temporary in CA) on the ballot to redistrict. Other states are limited by law. Ohio is a state with such a law, but it has not been enforced.

How can those outside MS help organize voters to change the vibe in MS? Are people so deluded across the state that they believe Tater Tot that the one black rep is responsible for a "reign of terror"? Citizens should choose their reps not the reverse. That is fundamental. There are so many great politicians who happen to be black. Did voters choose Obama, Booker, Warlock, Crockett by chance. NO.
