The Democratic Party is the only party that believes in democracy, but sometimes it is mind-blowingly stupid. It sounds like it’s too late for these 1-2% ers to withdraw?

Until politics gets out of the pockets of the super rich who only look to their own welfare, we are all doomed. Pelosi is representative of this old way of thinking and manifesting results according to status quo.

CA has the unique ability to be the melting pot of all trends but what I speak of is not a trend it is a tidal wave of reaction to wealth controlling power over long periods in history.

It is the last gasp of humanity attempting to truly go forward instead of merely treading to stay alive.

We need a new way, not a new gimmick to hide the old way. Is that clear enough? The capitalist way of doing business as usual got us here in this hell hole. Unfortunately, it’s still great wads of wealth that runs what we hear and what gets backed. It is not what we all need as a government.

Until we can find a political leader not connected to all the old money and someone who is not bought and sold, or worse yet, the buyer and seller, we will continue to ride this roller coaster of political rubbish where no one but the ultra rich seem to win.

Unfortunately, if the Dems don’t get their act together, they very well may handover the most Blue state in the union to a Republican governor.

Excellent analysis. I guess it is too late to get the bottom feeders off the ballot…Are you getting this word out to CA? Maybe Pelosi needs to endorse another candidate while she eats her humble pie.

Part of me wants to just vote for the Republican candidate to send a message to my tribe that they done fucked up.

My ballot should arrive today, and I will likely make a decision this afternoon and pop it in the post tomorrow.

We deserve what we are going to get for our "cuteness"

Pardon me, but that is the dumbest way to think giving what the orange combover is doing to us and our country. I guess there are idiots in CA.

Do you live here? If not, you can kindly shut the hell up

Well stated. Let's hope the message is clear enough to those who need to hear it.

Wow! Another dead-square punch thru the veneer into the heart of the matter. As a Californian (Marin) most of my life (now PNW) I am breathless at your dissection of the Pelosi phenomenon. She is indeed super powerful and that power can misfire with spectacular results. I describe my political upbringing (I'm 58) as "Pelosi democrat" which I think explains a lot. The warm glow of the machine when it works is very pleasant and can lead one to comfortably believe that it's all going to work into the future. We really need to get this jalopy back on the rails FAST and get it rolling so we can have nice things that seemed like wallpaper back in the day, such as some notion of support for basic rights, streets free of masked federal thugs bodysnatching, and some shreds of bodily autonomy. Now I'm getting nostalgic and I will see myself out
