I'd like to see some reliable poll before I celebrate. Too many critics of Republicans still say they'd prefer them over Democrats. The Dems still look weak and feckless for the most part. Only the ones about to run in flipable districts need a poll. 2026 is a long way off, and there's a lot of work to do meanwhile.

"Not only are the prevailing historic winds against them, but the deliberate, self-inflicted shit-show of destruction and incompetence Donald Trump has waged against our economy, national security, and the rule of law during his 99-day sprint" Worst is yet to come. Donald "The Beast" Trump is building a wall once again. Colossal tariff wall that is the beginning of the end for the system of down. At first the beast will pull the plug out of the global economy. The worst financial crisis of human history will pull a swarm of the banks underwater and the bank run begins. Then the beast will collapse a mountain of debt shattering the backbone of the monetary system causing a systemic risk to realize. Finally the beast will cast American citizens into a system slavery under the name of Ronald Wilson Reagan, just to "honor his legacy" count the number. After the destruction a new world order will be established in the US. And the Golden Age begins from the ruins of the world wide collapse. All of the system slaves will love it. No more cash - just digital transactions. No more traditional criminal activity. No more tax evasion. No more transactions without the "all seeing eye". Outcasts will hate the world without freedom, hope and privacy. To cover up the mess and distract the public by smoke and mirrors, the beast will engage in a war with Iran. Lies and deceit, corruption and decay, dancing on the graves will continue. Until; Black hole sun, won't you come, won't you come... I want to play a game. Time has come to opt out of the empire of filth. Live or die...

Jeff, in keeping with the nautical theme, here are a few lines from Sting’s “The Ballad of the Great Eastern”. Hubris eventually meets Karma. So mote it be ✨🙏💫

The ship was launched upon the tide and all the townsfolk cheered,

A brass band played but not a word of omens they had feared,

But before the afternoon was out, the celebration wrecked,

A dignitary clutched his heart...and collapsed upon the deck.

No doctors could revive him as the telegraphs would tell,

And the name upon the coffin...[INSERT NAME OF TYRANT HERE]. 🚢

The digital civil war is on Americans vs the Nazis Spread the word on the Resistance Movement which has to counter the Nazi talking points And don't be afraid to use the word "Nazi(s)" because they will take it as an insult but well deserved since they are mirroring what the Nazis did in Germany in the 1930's

There needs to be not only physical protests but digital protests Americans need to get involved

Attended Pramila Jayapal's Resistance Lab 2.0 over the weekend There was an original 1.0 in March and this is followup Highly recommend because it thoughtfully breaks down how and why successful resistance movements are successful from past experiences in other countries mobilize.us/PramilaforCongress to join resistance community or find a protest near you

PramilaforCongress.com to get on email list

The day is long gone when things travelled in straight lines. Trump is circling the drain, fine. But the opportunities abound for Democratic pooch-screwing. Did they learn their lesson? Can they? I have doubts. They typically underperform when presented with a free lunch they can fuck up beyond all reality, because they do.

I'm putting my mental bet at the moment on the Dark Horse of the millennium, which is the middle-middle moderates. Y'know, the people nobody gives a shit about. They are very pissed off and they are massive. Were the Center-Left and Center-Right to come together, even temporarily, such a coalition would gut both party structures like a carp. The definitions for what those categories are could even shift, with people smelling blood in the water. The chaos would be deafening and the forces inexorable.

Yeah, I know, such a thing is completely impossible. No one has ever done it, the implication being we will soon just all go back to normal once the bloated mango has been shackled. Nobody, except Lincoln, when he sucked the life out of the Whigs and formed the GOP. But those were extraordinary times, you may bleat. Well, of course they were. Thanks for making my point for me.

As far as the argument "but we have no Lincoln!". You're right, we don't. But who was Lincoln when he started on that fool's errand?

I’d like to think it’s starting. On the international stage Canada and Australia led the way, and I read that in Texas there were quite a few Republicans in school board elections that lost. Every win , no matter what it is , builds the momentum. Keep up the good fight!!

Good article Jeff. Things do look hopeful. Of course, like you said in you closing paragraph: The big IF is do we have a normal election in 2026. That is always in the back of mind. So, we all need to keep working hard to keep hope alive. Thanks for sharing. Take care.

I admire your faith in wormy democrats who seem to be trying to placate maga more than they are trying to attracted more dems and independent voters. Sure, there are a couple dems standing tall, but the majority are squeamish, weak and flailing at messaging. trump threw dems a surprise Christmas gift when he said little girls don't need 30 dolls and can be just fine on two dolls that cost a couple bucks more. Talk about killing Christmas! Dems> Asleep at the messaging wheel again. Dems will ramble on incoherently about policy issues and wonky diatribes that would put a sleeping dog into a comatose state. Dems have always held the trophy of snatching defeat from the hands of victory, so I don't expect much to change. If dems couldn't sell the best ecinomy on the planet to their voters, I am not sure if they can sell a $20 bill for $10.

The state of Oklahoma has one of the worst quality of life scores in the country and it keeps electing crazy, useless, demented republicans to save them from the tyranny of govt overreach. Massachusetts has the best quality of life scores and is run mainly by democrats. Dems might want to tell dolt republicans that the more you vote republican the worse off you will be. Instead dems will talk about carried interest tax breaks and how HBxxxx will lower ethanol standards for light pick up trucks. Oh, and a simple statement that the Constitution is a puece of paper and trump is a flamethrower might actually make some sense to voters...

Unless maga suffers enormous economic harm from their cultish behavior, the senate remains GOP and the House goes dem by a few seats. But that is at least better than the current trifecta of the GOP. War is Peace after all...
