True, the titular president isn't doing his job, but let's not forget that the other two branches of our constitutional government, Congress and the Supreme Court, aren't doing theirs either. Bush II appointed John Roberts chief justice in 2005 and Samuel Alito as associate justice shortly thereafter. They were two of the five Republican appointees who became the majority in Citizens United v. FEC (2010). The failings of Congress go back at least to the reign of Newt Gingrich as Speaker of the House in the mid-1990s, but he didn't come out of nowhere either: the anti-democratic turn of the Republican Party got underway when the white Southern Democrats flooded into it after the Civil Rights and Voting Rights Acts of the mid-1960s. Yet the Democratic leadership was caught seriously off-guard by the advent of Trump II.
So now we're all in "save our democracy" mode, hoping, praying, and working toward a blue wave in this fall's midterms, all the while wondering if the upper echelons of the Democratic Party have learned anything from the last several decades.
This is spot on. Trump is doing everything in his power to destroy the presidency from getting butt kissers as his cabinet to weaseling his way out of criminal contempt and the media is playing along with this. With that while Trump is responsible for lifting the pendulum in one direction, my concern is when he leaves office it may swing far in the other direction. I saw the appearance of Megan Romer of DSA on Fox News Channel and was shocked that their agenda is at best anarchististic (eliminating the Senate? getting rid of law enforcement? really?). We want Trump and any MAGA influenced politician out of government but not be taken over by the left wing mirror image.
Simple and direct. Can anyone imagine a similar article being written decades ahead that would quote Trump as Lincoln and others are quoted here? Only a clever humorist would be able to assemble phrases and sentences spoken by Trump to make a point about anything profound, enlightening, or inspiring. A man without a soul and certainly not one to emulate. Our next president has the monumental task to both physically remake the office and morally redirect its responsibilities. Be patient with this person.
You might want review U.S. Grant's history and achievements before judging him flawed. The Netflix series on presidents shows him to be an admirable person and an effective leader who may have had a very brief episode of excessive drinking, but turned out to be a great president. He got Lincoln's agenda accomplished in spite of Andrew Johnson's efforts to obstruct it. He is falsely accused of being a drunkard.
There is NONE so BLIND as those who would see! The TRUTH ABOUT TRUMP! now what?? ALL AMERICANS even his MAGA-MESS SUPPORTERS should be absolutely FRIGHTED by the monster he was before he became POTUS! And the MONSTER they created! YOUR CHILDREN, YOUR FAMILIES and your LIVES are at stake! ALL AMERICANS BETTER SAVE THEMSELVES! By any means necessary, and for SURE MIDTERMS! which Trump FEARS because he knows he should be IMPEACHED, REMOVED AND REPEAT! and you🫵🏼🫵🫵🏾 know it too!
Great article Edwin! The United States has a grifter as president. Trump never has cared about America or the citizens of the country, only about grifting and stealing from the American people.

Great article, but, again, I won't share it because there is an image of the Orange Idiot on it. This fight is more important than collecting clicks!

America does not have, nor should it have a president. The Americas are a continent. The United States, on the other hand is a different story.
Well said! Thank you for plainly pointing out facts.
