Quote: "Masculinity is in crisis β€” not because men are weak, but because accountability has been systematically outsourced. We live in a culture that indoctrinates men into handing any meaningful responsibility off β€” to authority, to hierarchy, to tradition, to ideology, to rage."

Let me add something to the end of that excellent list...."to women and to other underprivileged members of society."

And now if only men would flock to this message instead of the nihilism and blame spouted by the witless podcast bros.

A thoughtful, well-presented essay. Unfortunately, Donald Trump wouldn't begin to understand it. Neither would Stephen Miller, or Pete Hegseth. No members of the ICE goon squads are going to pull down their masks, take off their cosplay uniforms, and say "I quit." Why? Because everyone of these guys is a jerk. They're assholes, led by the biggest asshole in American history. I still think a majority of people in this country do care about accountability. The question, for me, is how those of us who agree with this essay, deal with these authoritarian creeps for the next three years. There are no easy answers, but I still believe the decent people of this country--as exemplified by the citizens of Minnesota--must never give up, and must always keep standing in opposition to Trump and his MAGA cult.

Thank you for the article, Nick. In my case my friend of twenty five years, is eighty three years old he adopted a cat 🐈 named baby All that talk about masculinity it may matter in some case. The content of person character matters even more. This what Dr Martin Luther, King said about his children in his I have a dream speech when I was just a toddler. This country in this time is having a crisis of this administration, brought on by them that affects the people of this nation. War, Corruption, Accountability, Justice perhaps πŸ€”? I am thinking of that Judge in Florida. Is she capable of being the judge in this situation? No one is above the law. This post was very informative and thought provoking. How nice to find a man who knows why masculinity doesn't make a male a real man.

It seems that in today's US society especially, this isn't being taught although it is a global problem and a toxic one.
