No, the Supreme Court didn't rule that Trump's attempt to end birthright citizenship stands. But the right-wing Court gave him a big win in his ongoing quest to exert executive power.
As much as I want to hear this, it is too long. Why must so many discussions eat an entire hour? I have a personal life with tasks and responsibilities. If this cannot be condensed to 15 or twenty minutes, I will await the review instead. I just do not have enough stamina to do 18 hour days of consuming news and opinion, at my age, to keep up with everyone's analyses. As brevity is the soul of wit, cutting to the chase is the soul of information.
The Supreme Court seems to be trying to avoid ruling on the basic undering issue of whether Trump can end birthright citizenship by executive order and avoiding the constitutional question. It makes no sense to make a ruling that means that the citizenship of a child will depend upon which state the child is born in.
Of course it doesn’t make any sense. The point is to create massive chaos until such time as they can get what they want, which is to deny birthright citizenship to anyone born here, unless both parents are full legal citizens at the time of that birth. They play the long game & we have to recognize that. Once they had that captured Supreme Court, at the very end of trump’s first term, their plan was put into high gear. They never expected to lose the 2020 election, but now that they have captured all 3 branches, I can guarantee that they have absolutely no intention of losing again, EVER.
Many people are examining the 2024 elections & they have discovered some very striking & consistent anomalies in NY & in every single swing state. The odds against DT winning every swing state are extremely high. Even if that election cannot be changed, we must figure out what happened or else these religious extremists will remain in power & expand their power in all upcoming elections.
One of their ultimate goals is to gain control of enough state legislatures to call a Constitutional Convention & completely write a NEW Constitution; which of course, will remove all civil rights & establish their theocracy.
Biden can't dismiss some student debt, but trump can dismiss the 14th Amendment... No matter what the legal minds say, trump can now ignore the Constitution until they get around to deciding what trump does is convenient to their deranged whim.
Could the criminal trump say he wants to take away the vote from women. He can issue an EO and it will be 'legal' until corrupt until SCOTUS gets around to deciding it. Could trump cancel the election in 2026 with an EO and just wait until disturbed SCOTUS decides otherwise? SCOTUS is more of a danger to democracy than trump. Rhis court is more partisan than The Heritage Foundation. Amazing.
I have to disagree that it is more partisan than the Heritage Foundation, because they are doing exactly what the HF & the Federalist Society put them there to do.
I don’t see why all of these attorneys & legal analysts on all of the media, cable tv, Substack, podcasts, etc, etc do not recognize & just come right out & say it; every single move that any Republican branch of federal, state, & local govt, including all of the courts, or any organization does, is laser focused to achieve their ultimate goal.
The goal is to destroy the secular govt & replace it with a theocracy based on their Evangelical Christian belief system. Why did our more liberal Democratic lawmakers, judges, media people, not pay attention to what Kevin Roberts of the HF said: “This will be a second American revolution, & it shall remain bloodless; IF the left allows it to be.” ?
He & they meant every word of that & every move they make is in furtherance of that goal, & all of you need to speak to it in that way, as just one piece in a extremely well thought out plan. They are waging an all out religious war against anyone not of their faith.
This attack on Planned Parenthood, even ones that exist in states with total abortion bans, isn’t about just cutting Medicaid expenses!!!!
The ultimate goal is to shut them down completely because they provide condoms, IUDs, & birth control pills. Project 2025 states quite clearly that they want zero birth control taught other than abstinence, or the “natural” or Calender Method. Lincoln Square, you have many smart, educated people on your team; you must step back & allow yourselves to see the big picture so that you, & others, can develop a battle plan of attack, & stop playing defense just in these smaller skirmishes here & there.

Dems played patty cake, acted weak, played by normal rules, and especially, did not expand or change the Supreme Court. Dems kept playing by ther old rules and got their asses kicked and in the process democracy, as we know it, was kicked to the curb by maga maniacs. Dems seem to play defense all the time, and are unable to push forward, no matter the subject, circumstance, or danger.
