Trump has tried to drown us in his illegal and unconstitutional executive orders, and now he wants to submerge the free world in his pro-fascist lies. His hand-picked election-denier, and two-time electoral loser, Kari Lake, just announced a deal with OAN to broadcast their toxic disinformation around the world through the Voice of America network!

Trump doesn’t — and Kari Lake surely doesn’t — have the legal right to determine what goes out on VOA, but when has breaking laws and norms ever stopped Trump before? Trump doesn’t just want to cross lines and break laws to silence VOA — he wants to silence us. No one speaking truth to power, no pro-democracy independent media organization, is safe from the Trump administration’s wrath.

But we’re not afraid.

We’re not going to cower in the corner until the danger passes.

The mission of speaking truth to tyranny has never been safe or easy, but it was always right. When Voice of America was founded 82 years ago, it was at a point when our leaders understood that standing up to fascism at home and around the world was essential when VOA was created with this mission:

To combat Nazi propaganda with accurate and unbiased news and information.

Since then, VOA has served the world with a consistent message of truth, hope, and inspiration. Now it’s on us.

Today, Lincoln Square Media and the Lincoln Loyal community are stepping into the void created by traditional media’s failure to rise to the moment. We’re giving voice to those intimidated or forced into silence by a mad king hellbent on destroying everything we love and hold dear about our country.
