Trump is getting a lot of credit in the polls from Americans for "shutting down the border." Presumably, people assume that deploying 10th Mountain Division on the border stopped illegal crossings. But Jenn Budd says that because Border Control is depoyed in the cities supporting ICE with apprehensions, the border is more open than ever, and crossings are continuing as usual. I don't think most Americans know this. It is plausible, because with a continous stream of immigrants into the country, the ICE circus can continue indefinitely.
