Her reasoning for voting against the SAVE Act is completely flawed though In a statement, “When Democrats attempted to advance sweeping election reform legislation in 2021, Republicans were unanimous in opposition because it would have federalized elections, something we have long opposed,” It would not have federalized elections Full Stop
This is a lie and not unfamiliar with Nazi Republicans these days probably meant to save face with her Alaskan Republican constituents who want to lie to themselves The Democratic bill proposed and defeated by Nazi Republicans would have banned congressional gerrymandering, reformed campaign finance laws, and made it easier to vote in federal elections All of these core pieces of the proposed 2021 Act would have had devastating consequences for Republicans at the ballot box So nix it they did Nazi Republicans have run on or for power not policy since the Reagan years Murkowski knows this but what the hell the SAVE Act is dead anyway
I really wish there could be printed transcripts of podcasts. Without all the umms and ers, that is. I can read them faster than I can listen. I glean what I can from brief summaries (not just here, but on all the independent media I’m subscribed to), but I realize this is wishful thinking. So, I’m in heaven when I see a written article.
I agree with Edwin on China. Xi has ascended to the Responsible Adult in the world. He will be able to get a lot more by riding that pony than following some linear formulation of 20th Century physical hegemony. The Chinese have already invested heavily in Africa and embedded themselves deep into their politics. South America is underway now. And we're mollifying a 4-year-old's temper tantrums.

I'm older than all of you on the panel today and I have always supported funding/helping Israel until March of 2024. Even after Israel destroyed/leveled the Greek Orthodox church in 2023. When Netanyahu prohibited journalist from going into Gaza I got suspicious - any time news outlets and/or humanitarian aid/organizations are restricted EVERYONE should look deeper into the situation. Netanyahu and TrumpEpshTeen are cut from the same cloth Liars are the least of it. Until Israel removes Netanyahu and their government swings back to moderates then our tax dollars/weapons should NOT be going to Israel period. AIPAC should send their money to Israel and work on getting back to a more moderate government. Again, thank you to all three of you for an informative, interesting, and thought provoking session!

Ever since the murder of Rabin, Israel has been sliding down a slippery slope toward institutionalized bigotry and the denial of the right of Palestinians to have any legitimate form of existence from the river to the sea. It’s the duty of Diaspora Jews to ask the Israelis to reassess their priorities, kick the hardliners like Ben Gvir and Smotrich out of office and reassert their devotion to the principles of tolerance and justice as taught by the prophets.
