Unrelated to today's post, I commend Kristoffer Ealy, re: "Bernie's working class fairy tale has a blind spot." You should castigate Bernie again for prematurely endorsing an adorable 'working class' woman for a House seat when she has not yet even won the Primary--NEXT August! Many WI Dems are skeptical that she could win against Van Orden and we endorse a much better qualified candidate. Ealy's article was bullseye on target about the reason White men did not vote for Kamala. I am skeptical that that particular trait can be overcome. But Dems must figure a way to do it.
Government Shutdown: Getting Angry And Demanding 3 Things 202.224.3121
Over at American Manifesto Lukium(https://bit.ly/4pfyLBm) has called on WE the People to shutdown the government unless 3 demands are met So call your senator and congressman/woman to make this happen or you will shut them down so that they won’t be able to run for dog catcher Create a habit to call them every day Flood the lines And then say the following
“Do not fund the government unless these three demands are met: release the Epstein files, end the tariff lie, and prohibit the use of force against Americans. I know the regime will never concede, and that is the point—to force them to defend why, until their collapse. If you cave, your career ends. We will fund your primary challengers, we will canvas, we will donate, and we will make sure you are finished.”
Thanks for this ancient but necessary information presented in a trippy & somewhat fun way. I feel old too but going down memory lane puts things in perspective albeit painful & horrific perspective. My first listen today & looking forward to tuning in more.
Remember when, as a kid, you learned about Hitler? Monster, of course, but THE next question was—how and why did millions of Germans fall for this guy? And you may have learned about the crushing poverty and disgrace of Germans after WWI and maybe that was reason enough. This book provides us and the historical record, the autopsy report of the cause and malignancy of this cancerous man and movement that is dragging our democracy into the depths before our very eyes! This time it’s not wheelbarrows full of worthless Deutschmarks—but Brinks Trucks full of gold and junk bonds. And one toxic asshole—whose father’s middle name was Christ!—to hawk it to the gullible. What a world!
One of the retreads from that 'greed is good' era in New York who keeps recycling through our politics is Alan Dershowitz. Rudy Giuliani, then the US Attorney for the Southern District, indicted Trump arch rival Leona Helmsley, another tabloid figure ['The Queen of Mean'], and Dershowitz was the attorney who handled her appeal. It's like we're playing the longest running game of whack-a-mole with the most odious creatures NYC produced in the 80s.
+1 to the shout-out to Wayne Barrett, below. This was a thoroughly depressing interview, because no one on the Left can really continue to imagine that the plutocrats somehow installed Trump into the Presidency against the volonté générale. No, this was a movement from below. Of course the plutocrats are getting on board with him now, but really, those people only get 1 vote apiece.
Very interesting background on Trump. I grew up in south Jersey and remember him well, especially by all the tabloids newspapers at our local Acme Supermarket in Haddonfield NJ. What pops out in my memory is the amount of scandals actually surrounding Trump and family. I find the background information about New York City fabulous, but Trump can eat s—t. Thank you for a great interview.
I grew up in northern Delaware which was in the Philly viewing area for local TV news, and I remember Trump from his casino era constantly getting hauled in front of the NJ Casino Control Commission for hiring mobbed-up contractors, swanning around his casinos with known mob figures, and on and on. That's why I found it incredible that anybody would ever take that guy seriously.
Hi Jane fellow friend from the Delaware Valley. I’m out in California now after a lifetime in the USNavy. But I have found there is no where far enough to run from this nightmare we are all living in. I too remember his casino days at the shore; at the time we were excited that Atlanta City was being “brought back to life,” and thousands of jobs were being created, but as always in hindsight I feel this is tragic and its repercussions are like a title wave today. Thanks for responding.
Jane my husband is a from Kernersville, NC near Winston-Salem, High Point, Greensboro area. Such a small world.
We love NC and almost retired back there, but my husband remembered too much of Senator Jesse Helms politics when he was growing up, and he just couldn’t (even though I think he had died by then). Vote them out is correct. I understand you all have a good Governor. We are so happy the republican didn’t win, he seemed like a nut case from over here. 🤦♀️
You're absolutely right, Nancy, fellow Delaware Vallyean! There is nowhere to run, so it's up to us to VOTE these bastards out! Sadly, all that promise about casinos in Atlantic City bringing the city back to life turned out to be false promises.
This is such a freaking nightmare. I never imagined our soldiers patrolling our streets. America is better than this. Sewage is spewing out of D.C. daily. 💔💔
I understand your desire to stop hearing about him—I feel the same way. But it is important to know about his longtime connection to the Russian mob in order to understand why he doesn’t just go away, no matter what atrocities he commits or how stupid he sounds. Living in a country run by an ignorant and bigoted minority is bad enough; but living in a country that is run by the Russian government requires a whole other level of knowledge and effort to eradicate it.

Taco had a whole page in a newspaper demanding…. what? I remember it’s way horrifying but I don’t remember what it said.
After they were proven innocent Trump did not want them freed or conviction overturned.
I guess I can say “typical trump”?
Trump is a KKK level racist

Read the late investigative reporter Wayne Barrett’s book from the 1990s: Trump: The Deals and the Downfall. 🤯
hmm strange how he has changed his opinion on RAPING CHILDREN

NOT interested in this ASSHOLE’S story - EVER!!! No thank you!!!
