The commutation releases GPB Capital founder David Gentile, whose federal conviction involved misleading more than 10,000 investors, according to prosecutors.
"The White House has not commented on why one co-defendant received clemency and the other did not." Well, I'll venture a guess. One paid off Trump and the other did not...yet.
In Vanessa Williamson’s Power of Taxation in American History(https://bit.ly/44Hswxp) she makes the point that cuts through the myths surrounding taxation and democracy, spotlighting how fiscal choices reveal who a country is actually built to serve Does it serve WE the People or does it serve the wealthy?
What becomes unavoidable is the way taxation functions not as an accounting exercise but as an architecture of democracy—one that is deliberately weakened when authoritarian movements want to keep public institutions too poor to challenge private dominance
The history she interrogates shows that when opponents of democracy fear the public’s voice, they don’t just suppress votes; they drain the revenue that makes self-government real This is at the heart of Project 2025 Render the federal government nonfunctional so that the wealthy class can rule through a dictatorship This has always been the Republican Nazi playbook since Reagan in the 1980’s Get the wealthy to replace the "social safety net" BUT by their rules
One such example is Michael Dell of Dell Computers is making a “donation” to kids of low income families to the tune of $6B (yes that’s with a “B”) to fund what will be called “Trump accounts” Of course this is not out of the generous heart of Dell He’s been cajoled to make a Republican Nazi “business deal” donation for Cheeto so he can make good with his “Trump accounts” or baby accounts(https://bit.ly/4oDh2T1)
It is now clear how the Nazi party wants to implement Project 2025 Create programs that businesses will support but can pull at any time at their own discretion leaving WE the People holding nothing Classic counterparty risk and no accountability
Are you tracking the tally of pardons and how much tRump has hauled into his accounts? I would find that effort very enlightening. It should be all part of the accountability effort that will expose and incriminate the regime for Criminal referrals now and in the future. There are a couple of organizations on Substack that are doing that regarding crypto/ donations and financial interests in major industry contracts with Federal govt. We need maximum sunlight! Thanks for your consideration.
This act goes hand-in-hand with this regime’s seeming determination to strip any consumer protections from working people. How many people will need to lose their life savings before more Americans realize how thoroughly corrupt this regime is?
I'm a subscriber of Lincoln Square where I see your posts. Could you give a short bio on yourself, Brian Daitzman? I'm considering subscribing to your Substack, the Intellectualist, but I'd like to know more about you, the author. I looked thoroughly and could not find a bio online.
Brian Daitzman founded The Intellectualist to bring moral clarity and civic seriousness to global news.
Pro-democracy and pro–rule of law, he is committed to the American experiment at its best: constitutional government, pluralism, and equal dignity. He believes freedom is a long marathon, not a sprint, and that democracy endures only through sustained civic participation that builds durable institutions, not through flashy, cosmetic reforms that fade with the news cycle.
He argues that government’s most basic moral purpose is to reduce avoidable suffering through evidence-based policy that serves everyday Americans, and to invest in people so they can become self-actualized — able to develop their capacities, pursue purpose, and live fully realized lives. In his view, a strong and resilient society treats investment in its citizens as both a moral duty and a practical necessity.

I wonder how much dough Agolf Shitler raked in from that pardon. It's pretty clear that he, Qusay, and Uday are selling pardons.
