The Founding Father's words 250 years ago speak directly to us today as we confront a would-be absolute monarch far more dangerous and un-American than George III.
In unconstrained conflict, the community that wins is typically the one that can fight the hardest and longest and with the most resources. This, in turn, is likely to be the community whose members can be rallied to become the most selflessly devoted to its success - and the most implacably opposed to surrendering to the "other."
Thank you, Mr. McElvaine. I always wonder just how much background the maga justices have in American history or whether they have some motive beyond the law. And how bright can they be when they genuflect to djt knowing full right well they can never get up from that knee and defy djt because he will cut them off at their knees. This is when we need investigative journalism the most.
"but sunk himself beneath the rank of animals, and contemptibly crawls through the world like a worm.” ...best description of our times right now..... we need pubs around the country reading this aloud ..I'd go... sadly we have to do this again 250 years later....greed and power to hold onto that greed has no "sell by date"
Sure. Absolutely. Profound truths, 250 years ago and now. And not one single member of the MAGA cult would be persuaded by this. And honestly, I'm not sure how many Americans, in total, would pay attention to these words. The people who read these essays on the Lincoln Square site are already convinced, but I'm not sure how to get a large percentage of the population to pay attention. The population of Minneapolis is sure paying attention and are actively standing up to Trump and Co. But do we have to have ICE goon squads in every major city for this to happen? Not trying to be a downer, but when I see polls of Trump disapproval clock in at 56%, my reaction is, is that all?

What common sense does this administration have? I believe none. Thank you Lincoln Square.

This is what will make the difference
Remember Thermopolis!

Thank you. We too need to make our stand.
Thank you
Profound truths.
