Refreshing. But why do you think Andy Beshear is president? If you take out that sentence it would fit everyone's fantasy.

I'm just sad that you chose a male rather than a female President to write about in this wonderful piece. Thank you for a great read.

I love the realistic possibilities you detail. All we need is good people getting behind good leaders to wipe away current scourge. Thx for brightening my day. I shared your narrative on Facebook.

This brought tears to my eyes and a small glimmer of hope that we can have someone like that in charge once again.

Great essay! However, I think we can do better than the choice of soy beans and corn seeds.

I needed that, thank you. I’d like add to the story, in the first 100 days the following happened: Medicare For All including private options, a progressive and fair income tax code including much more expansive and permanent EITC and caregiver credits and the removal of the earnings cap on Social Security plus an enhancement of Social Security benefits, free vocational and community college education, Supreme Court expansion and reform, a surtax on wealth over X amount and a Federal minimum wage tied to the COLA, tariff refunds and more for us, the American people are passed into law and implemented immediately. Finally, implementing enforceable safeguards in our codes to make sure this wrecking ball never happens again and holding a constitutional convention to revise and strengthen the constitution for the real modern world not to support an imaged past that never needs to rise again. Ever.

Made me cry. With a little hope in the heart.

As I watched the Obama ceremony yesterday, I was incredibly sad that we have lost the decency, civility, intelligence and kindness that Barak and Michelle brought to the White House; a place that now feels like a crass fighting cage every day. But I was also hopeful, as I listened to speakers and musicians sharing a better vision for our future, and doing it without hatefulness or sarcasm. I was hopeful as I talked with others who were moved to tears, wanting us to return - or move forward - to a time when governing means sacrificing for the greater good, a time when the humanity of all people is welcomed and embraced. I look forward to your vision of a quiet, sane 2030.
