Since Trump came down that infamous escalator, Republicans have missed every off ramp on the highway to fascism. They will protect Trump to hold on to power no matter the cost to Americans.
This may be the best argument for term limits that I have ever read! The House was envisioned as a place for citizen legislators to come in, spend a couple of years, and then return home. The Senate was never envisioned as the most exclusive and luxurious nursing home imaginable.
the r's are not a solid block of ice... they are melting.... yes there are many violent r's and no one can determine how many if you go by x... it was proven that many don't live here... lil' musk forgot to lock a key showing the origin of the poster...oops.... so we must question how many violent r's live here.. townhalls are the best way for the cowardly congress to meet their voters but they are scared .... I'm sure trump has promised them wins no matter "what".... but "what" just might matter now
The Republican Party is being controlled and manipulated by a relative few individuals with big money who wield a lot of power in this world.
These individuals, a relative handful compared to our population total, are protecting their particular way of life. A life the rest of us and vast majority do not share. A life of excess and privilege that allows them to live outside of laws and decency and morals, and to exercise any opinion or tactic which supports their fantasy of being superior because of their ability to manipulate our economic system to their personal advantage. Underline the word “personal”, here.
We, all of us, have allowed this travesty to happen. We have allowed these minuscule amount of individuals to exercise this power over the vast majority of us through their control of whole industries and their habit of hoarding wealth.
These individuals control much to much of our lives through their ownership and controlling interests in manufacturing to media, from tech to insurance and medical management and also completing the package of control, now our government.
While speeding us into innovations of the future, most all are for their profit and financial statement bottom line rather than truly benefitting society as a whole. This is why so many of our cities are crumbling, so many of us are homelessness, and there is so much division and hatred in this country.
The vast majority of our population are now struggling with the picture of a very bleak future for themselves and their children, with little hope. We are struggling to make a living through employment by these same few who have manipulated themselves into positions of power over the rest of us, with no intent or ambition to improve anything in our society except maybe their personal private bunkers of protection or their public gated communities they show the world their excesses and opulence.
Trump is the wrong target for impeachment! Target his enablers, the worst of which are the judges of the captured Supreme Court. Disarm him because Vance won't necessarily be better and might be worse because of his facade of respectability. Vance's fingerprints are all over Project 2025. He will not be a safe alternative to Trump. Target restoring the Constitutional power structure where the president is an executive, not a king. If the ship of state is damaged, fix it because a new captain won't keep it afloat.
Impeach Thomas, the easier target first, and then Roberts and then the other Trump judges for perjury in their hearings. Wait until after the midterms, but posing the idea now could discourage more mischief for now. Hopefully, we will have to votes to block any Trump replacements. Thomas is the easy target based on bribes. The Roberts six who signed the immunity ruling should all be charged with exceeding their constitutional authority. Federalist 69, 4th paragraph, make it clear beyond a shadow of a doubt that such immunity for the president was intentionally omitted from the Constitution. Therefore, the immunity decision is an amendment, not an interpretation, which is an abuse of their authority and a violation of their oath to defend the Constitution. The lack of immunity is the check on the president's unlimited pardons because that way, he cannot authorize a crime by proxy. That's how we got the murder of Renee Good, which you know Trump will pardon. This decision ended the rule of law. We can argue similarly that Citizens United also goes beyond interpretation.
When Lewis Powell proposed this conspiracy for a corporate takeover of the government, he targeted the court as the key to success. He has been proven right so far, so fight fire with fire and target the court. Nobody thought Republicans could win on abortion, but persistence paid off. Follow the lesson. Impeachment of the Roberts gang seems impossible today, but every journey starts with one step forward. When we get the votes, pass a resolution declaring the immunity decision unconstitutional based on the Federalist referenced above. Reaffirm the civil rights act on the grounds that the 14th and 15th amendments give Congress the power to define appropriate enforcement, not the court.
This is the system republicans want. Why would they oppose Trump? We have to stop pretending they have a conscience or want democracy because that's a waste of fucking time. We are at war with fascists and they are the Republican Party.
Republicans may think that additional gerrymandering will allow them to maintain a status quo. They forget that primaries can dump them back home, and that enough dissatisfaction with their performance will allow a flip even in a red district. We must remind them.
The murder of Renee Good is on the heads of the right-wing Roberts Supreme Court. That's where the "Trump vs United States" decision opened the door for fascism. May they rot in whatever Hell exists.
Circle this date...January 21, 2027 about a year from now. If Donald Trump is impeached and removed from office before then, then JD Whatshisname can only run for one additional term based on the 22nd Amendment but after the date he can run for two terms.
Thank you, Mr. Eisendrath. The greatest campaign symbol of all time has to be djt descending the escalator that never stops going down - it just continues to gather speed. djt is the sort of the living embodiment of downward motion and morals.
It’s simple. 100% hard-core MAGATS love this shit, about 25% of the country, and the rest of the rest of them, another 15%-20% are just fine with a dictator. It’s safe to say that the Republican Party is fascist, anti-democratic, intolerant of anyone not white, Christian and male, driven solely to impose their warped twisted view of the world on the rest of us.
What’s that old phrase for what the Trump administration spews every day as from a sewer? Oh yes, a bodyguard of lies.
But the desperate intensity of their venom tells a very clear story. They can feel the hot breath of the Furies on their necks, and they are running scared.
"They are now a fascist party. They will protect Trump to hold on to power no matter the cost to the American people" Edwin writes at the end of this essay. Yes, absolutely. We have crossed the line into authoritarianism and a police state. And all this talk of midterms, impeachment, etc., is, I believe, misplaced. Trump and his lickspittles are directing the goon squads in our major cities to incite violence. He wants a riot, because one way or another, he is going to try and stop the next election from happening. He wants to invoke the Insurrection Act. Keep resisting, keep speaking out, keeping opposing these creeps in any way you can, because the only thing protecting American democracy now, are ordinary Americans.
While some are happy to ride in Trump’s shadow, some Republicans are afraid of MAGA wrath and are afraid of losing their position snd privilege. What happens to America is less important.

Surely you jest. Republicans love this shit. Besides, if they don't stay all-in, the drooling animals in their base will kill them.

The Republican Congress is the mattress upon which Regime Leader Trump is screwing America, while Chief Justice Roberts guards the door.
