Welcome to this week’s edition of The Lincoln Logue.

We’re at a point where the days are starting to bleed together. Chaos is constant. The regime keeps doubling down on coverups. The mainstream media can’t keep pace with facts, or simply won’t. And that’s before you even factor in the day-to-day reality that most Americans are living through.

A woman speaking on C-SPAN this week shared that she has just $65 a month for food after her SNAP benefits were cut and she is on disability. She’s lost 28 pounds in the past year, weight she couldn’t afford to lose, something she only learned during a routine physical.

At the same time, Americans are losing jobs to AI. Historic cuts are taking place and have actually been rewarded by the markets. This week, former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey, fired nearly half the staff at his company Block, over 4,000 people. Dorsey stated that this was in response to AI driven growth that would replace these workers. The company’s stock rose 24% the next day.

This is where we are now: widespread suffering at the bottom, unchecked excess at the top. And a system that seems increasingly comfortable pretending that any of this is normal.

Monday, 2/23 – A Social Media Stunt Snowballs into a Political Flashpoint

A massive snowball fight in Manhattan’s Washington Square Park, organized by social media creators in the wake of a historic blizzard, quickly spiraled into a political flashpoint. Videos circulated online showing crowds pelting NYPD officers with snowballs, with two officers reportedly sustaining “cuts” and being treated by EMS.

The NYPD characterized it as more than harmless fun, calling the conduct “disgraceful” and “criminal” and circulating photos of four people it was seeking in connection with the incident. One 27-year-old man was arrested days later while others remain “at large” as police pursue possible charges for “assaulting” officers during the snowball fight.

But New York’s mayor, Zohran Mamdani, has pushed back against this characterization, referring to the videos as simply a snowball fight that “got out of hand.” While acknowledging that officers, and all city workers, deserve respect, Mamdani said he doesn’t believe the incident merits criminal charges, even joking that “if anyone is catching a snowball, it’s me.” A response that drew criticism from police unions and opponents who said it sends a dangerous message about accountability.

At a time when federal agents are terrorizing American cities, displacing families, shooting soccer moms and protestors – police unions condemning snowball fights and calling for charges seems trivial. After all, the officers showed up to a group gathering where people were having fun. It wasn’t New Yorkers’ fault they can’t see the joy in a snow day.
