The Lincoln Logue | RFK Jr. Sued, MAGA Mom Deported, & France Schooled

From firings to deportations, the faithful still cheer — even as they are kidnapped by Trump's Gestapo.

This week proved, yet again, that America is a country where even the victims of cruelty line up to cheer their abusers. Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was sued by pediatricians for years of anti-vaccine lies, and he responded by doubling down on his “free speech” martyr act while kids got sick. The Supreme Court handed Trump a blank check to purge thousands of civil servants, gutting what’s left of the federal government in the name of “efficiency.” Trump and Jair Bolsonaro cozied up over a punitive tariff war meant to hurt workers and stroke their own egos. ICE ripped a diehard MAGA mom from her kids in broad daylight — and she still insists Trump’s deportation dragnet is “doing the right thing.” And France learned that Trump’s idea of global educational leadership is gutting Harvard’s budget while smirking over a croissant.

It’s not just hypocrisy anymore — it’s performance art. Every headline this week felt like a case study in how to punish your base while keeping them clapping. And for those still pretending this is just politics as usual? Well, nothing screams “normal” like cheering the very policies that come for you next.

Welcome to The Lincoln Logue, your weekly reminder that the punchline always comes with a price.

Monday, July 7 — RFK Jr. Sued for Vaccine Lies, Still Thinks He’s the Hero

▌When you’re so wrong it’s actually malpractice.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. found himself the target of a lawsuit Monday as pediatricians and public health groups finally had enough of his deadly disinformation. The suit accuses him of spreading fraudulent claims about vaccines — from autism myths to COVID conspiracies — and profiting off public fear. Kennedy, true to form, called the lawsuit a political hit job, claiming the doctors were just “stooges for Big Pharma” and that he was merely “asking questions,” as if questions alone can land kids in ICUs.

The plaintiffs detailed how Kennedy’s relentless campaign against childhood vaccinations contributed to disease outbreaks, eroded public trust, and lined the coffers of his so-called health nonprofits. They highlighted how his messaging has led to plummeting vaccination rates in some areas, reviving diseases the U.S. thought it had eradicated. His critics say he’s weaponized distrust in government to line his pockets and play the perpetual underdog — a role he clearly relishes even as the casualties mount.

Still polling around 10% in the presidential race, Kennedy used the lawsuit as yet another fundraising tool, blasting out emails claiming “the establishment” is trying to silence him. For a man who claims to care about children, his record of increasing their risk of disease seems like an odd résumé. But in today’s political climate, bad science sells — and Kennedy seems more than happy to cash the checks while calling it a public service.
