Democrats must do two things. Point out the massive Damage done by the Republicans and other politicians and others like the Billionaires (what is it and who did it) and Point and Show and Act on a better way (what are the concerns of the real everyday people and not just an ideology). People must feel that their voices are being heard and matter and that politicians will not just use them for a vote and then turn their backs on them. We are ALL under threat from politicians who only USE voters and then forget about voters - and worse Ignore those who did not vote for them and actively work against them. Example: Louisiana represented by Mike Johnson (who spouts over and over about holier than now pronouncements) that has some of the Worst Quality of Life rankings on almost every category in America.

Cheeto And PT Barnum: Attacking Voter Rights

Let’s be clear, there’s no proven widespread voter fraud in this country despite what Cheeto has been saying for the last 5y(repeat a lie enough times and people believe it) Kurt Anderson over at the Daily Beast podcast(https://bit.ly/4uMzblt) compares Cheeto to 19th century showman PT Barnum, the infamous con man who got people to pay to see a 161y old woman even though they didn’t believe it Barnum didn’t say it was not true but he didn’t say it wasn’t How do you know it isn’t true? As Anderson relates, “If you can’t prove it’s not and people enjoy it, then that’s entertainment.” For Cheeto attention is what matters, not the truth

America has a weakness for being conned Anderson highlights the foundational American belief of “I can believe what I want because it’s the truth and it feels right” that has been spawned by the evangelical movement America has “always been the world leader in that kind of weak-mindedness and slippery sense of the difference between reality and fiction.”

The movement toward only voting on election day is the real Nazi Republican goal Chip away with the SAVE Act, get SCOTUS to attack mail in voting, and like PT Barnum keep telling the lie to gullible evangelical Americans

'Fools gold' is a self-defeating characterization. It's based on the maximalist view that 'if it's not a WIN, it has no value'. This is wrong. There is value in the fight itself, especially when it's waged very earnestly, and through a candidate that commands notice and respect.

Beto is a fun guy, but was wrong for Texas. He was ultimately not seen to be all that serious. Talarico is a whole nother kettle of fish. I won't list all of his strengths here, but even if he loses, he will very badly bloody the Texas GOP and drain the coffers of both them an the National Committee. Dollars that they need to focus on saving other seats that look flippy right now.
