Being a card-carrying nerd, I fanboy the shit out of all this. Context is king here. Every time I've see our side whining and moaning about how, simultaneously, Trump is scared *and* is lashing out to intimidate whoever, I come back to this. The 'intimidations are working' bedwetters are invalidated by Andrew when he says "they are tearing each other to pieces". They have 99 problems, and they're all inside the house.

Here's what's really new: you can't intimidate people who don't get intimidated by your weak sauce. You can't use the word 'dangerous' as an easy code for 'send us money oh god oh god we're all gonna die!' See, the dangerous is already baked into the shit pie being served. Intimidation is their one trick pony. If their intimidation worked, how did formerly Minnesota Nice soccer moms run ICE goons out of the state with whistles and minivans? Our old schtick of cowering-to-gain-public-opinion-power has long since run its course. We're taking the fight to them.

Good work, lads. Keep it up.

I love that you let Winnie be her own sweet self in the background. The news is terrible and anything that brings us joy is a bonus.

Hegseth says we don't need to worry about the closure of the Strait of Hormuz...because this Trumpster regime of idiots burned through its munitions stockpiles "at a pace the world has never seen."

Not so, sport. The British burned through munitions (to no great effect) in WWI, ran out of money, had to borrow from the ROTHSCHILDs. That's the banking family (British branch) that evidently used Epstein (French branch).

WOW usually Bessent is that smug SOB with a big grin on his face! Our Leader probably forgot what people said about going into a war with IRAN. HE thought it would be easy and they would go in and it would be all over!

Isn't it interesting that all this shit is happening in a similar pattern from COVID. When COVID hit, "HE" told us it would be over in a week, then he said "by Easter" (this year Easter is really early in April. They are treating this war like a video game. The rug or shooting himself in the foot! OurSoD is a clown, early on he looked at it as a video game! Until the shit hit the fan! Yes indeed they stranded a BIG Bunch of people in Dubai and they truly aren't happy! They are talking about bringing back the DRAFT! No preparation and NO endgame! Duh what can happen?

Thank you for a great, uniquely statistical conversation. I wait all week for your plucky insights. Bring on the midterms. Please write the campaign ads. F the Save Act.

I find it shocking and discouraging that his approval ratings are still in the 40s!

My message to FL Senator Rick Scott re:His Lies About the SAVE Act

Subject: Your SAVE Act Message Is an Insult to Floridians

Senator Scott,

Your email about the SAVE America Act reads less like a serious policy discussion and more like a political script designed to manufacture outrage about a problem that does not exist.

Let’s be clear: non-citizen voting in federal elections is already illegal and vanishingly rare. Numerous investigations by state officials, courts, and election administrators across the country have repeatedly confirmed this. Yet you continue to push the false narrative that our elections are being overrun by “illegal aliens.” That is not leadership. It is fear-mongering.

Floridians are not asking for another layer of bureaucratic barriers to voting. What we are asking for is honesty from the people who represent us.

The SAVE Act would make it harder for millions of eligible Americans to register or update their voter registration, including married women who have changed their names, naturalized citizens, seniors, and military families. Election officials across the country have warned that requiring documentary proof of citizenship for registration would create massive administrative burdens while solving no real problem.

So when you say this bill is about “common sense,” it rings hollow. What it actually looks like is another attempt to undermine confidence in elections so that restrictions on voting can be justified later.

And frankly, Senator, the tone of your message is deeply condescending. The image you paint—of casual conversations at barber shops and coffee shops supposedly demanding this bill—comes across as a cynical attempt to gaslight Floridians into believing that voter suppression is somehow grassroots demand.

It is not.

Floridians are worried about skyrocketing insurance costs, unaffordable housing, crumbling infrastructure, and access to health care. They are worried about whether they can stay in the communities they built their lives in. Yet instead of focusing on the real crises facing this state, you are amplifying a manufactured election panic that serves national political narratives rather than the people you represent.

Your job is not to act as a political echo chamber for the president or any party’s talking points. Your job is to represent the people of Florida and defend their rights—including their right to vote without unnecessary barriers.

Stop trying to scare Floridians with baseless claims about widespread voter fraud. Stop pretending this bill is about protecting elections when its real effect will be to make participation harder for legitimate voters.

If you truly want Floridians to trust their government, start by leveling with them instead of feeding them a narrative designed to serve partisan power.

Respectfully,

Chas Hermann

I am convinced that "half" the voting fraud in this country is committed by Republicans. Someone, prove me wrong!

Deploy all those ICE agents to IRAN

Send MAGA proud boys first

They are probably in ICE

Charlie's avatar

Send them first--except they would be an extreme danger to any real military unit because their only area of competence is dressing up like "soldiers."

I could have sworn his approval rating was below 39. I must be missing something.

Thanks for letting us know how bad it is and what issues the democrats can run on. Now can you talk about clear policy and legal enactment that can lead us through a transition to a more sane future? I am one voter out here that doesn't want slogans or to settle for the "at least it isn't trump party ". Is there anyone out there ready and able to take on the epstein class that continues to rule us? I don't mean give them cover, I mean hold them accountable. And I don't mean just the epstein files sex stuff. I mean the billionaire class hold on our culture, religion, business, and politics.
