I LOVE Jasmine Crockett mainly because she doesn't take any crap from ANYONE. I applaud her. Thank you Rick for having her on. Here again I wish we had her or politicians like her in our swing state of PA, unfortunately we do not and it makes me truly sad!
Jasmine, I ask myself every day why do people believe Donald Trump? There has been a lot of evidence over a long period proving that he doesn’t know what he’s talking about but it doesn’t reach the average American who doesn’t stay politically, economically, even socially informed. We need Barbara Fritchie’s (remember her—“shoot if you must this old gray head but spare your country's flag …” of Civil War fame ) on every corner speaking out about the delusions and dangers ofTrump. That would catch the attention of the average American who doesn’t stay informed.
This is exactly what we have to face, i.e., these people really do not think government has any responsibility for people. It's up to church/charity not taxpayers. This is the fundamental fight we are in -- what is the role of government. This is what the pre-FDR era was all about -- and why FDR was so hated
Jasmine Crockett can say things and get outraged in a way that a lot of other black people, especially women, cannot. Her beauty and diminutive stature make her less threatening than if she were a Nina Turner or Michelle Obama. Michelle Obama, because she is tall. Nina Turner, because she more resembles a lot of people who scare ignorant white people.
I remember a very seemingly racist thought, which I felt sounded far too racist to say out loud. That was a suggestion to Nina Turner that she tone down her emotion and change her dialect to something more similar to that of a W.A.S.P. I didn’t think this because I disagreed with her in any way. I didn’t think it because I thought that a sagacious, black woman didn’t have every right to speak her mind in any accent she chose, I didn’t think this because I thought she was anything less than absolutely correct. I thought this because I have seen those ignorant, white people both deliberately and without intention, not hear the words coming out of a black person’s mouth solely because they came across as “too black”.
It is the shame and scourge of my race, but it is an undeniable reality. Far too many erudite, sagacious, learned, brilliant “black” voices go unheard by those ignorant, white people because of the accent they use, the configuration of their facial features, the tone in which they are speaking, or their size and stature. Wonderful, amazing, tiny, little Jasmine Crockett can fight a fight so many others cannot and does so quite brilliantly.
Keep up the great work, Jasmine, and Thanks for having her, Rick. Excellent show, as usual.
Could you point me to a support page. I am a paid subscriber to Lincoln Square but the audio seems to not work on your videos. I can listen to any other Substack video, but not Lincoln Square.
Really wish I could watch this one, but I can't get audio on any of the Lincoln Square videos. Odd, since this is the only Substack I subscribe to, but the only one I can't listen too.
Rick, I thoroughly enjoyed your podcast with Jasmine Crockett. It’s like a different world to me.
I’m a few years older than you, but I REMEMBER EVERY TIME YOU BROUGHT OBAMA AND THE DEMOCRATS DOWN SO EFFECTIVELY THAT I WANTED TO SLAP YOU LOL! In that other world, you’d never enjoy such an encounter with Jasmine

“Feels Like Russia” should be a podcast title. A Russian friend told me this. They should know.
