a year ago and is a Universal Studio mom. ABC & NBC & Paramount are out of my channel cue. I can live without telly. We never had one until I was 15 in 1972. My own adult children don’t have television.
My husband’s family was active in the Danish Resistance during WWII. Nazi’s took over their farm. They had curfews. They had Nazi’s eating their farm animals. They were eating grass and weeds by the end of the war. They traded cigarettes to Nazi soldiers for guns & ammunition because the soldiers were children. Typical soldier, “my mother says I’m 15. Hitler says I’m 19.” If they can do without, we can too.
Midterms must turn Congress…unless they turn quickly, seated Republicans are in trouble. Trump can’t buy the votes of farms already heading to foreclosure. He can’t uncrash the real estate industry that is on the cusp. He can’t shut RFK Jr up. He can’t give Pete Kegsbreath common sense. He can’t force Nobel Prize Committee to nominate him. He can’t control NATO’s response to Ukraine & Poland. They know what Russia is capable of. He can’t expect UAE to be trusted with the chips. If he lets Maxwell out, the actual trafficker…every woman and man with a daughter will know what he is made of. I’m pissed she’s out of high security prison and could get work release. Such a fucking criminal liar!
Remember when MAGA Republicans were howling about being silenced? Remember when the MAGAs screeched about censorship? Remember when Gym Jordan and Comer Pyle held Congressional hearings about how conservatives were being cancelled by the Biden Administration? Remember when MAGAs were wrapping themselves in the flag of absolute free speech?
Those were all lies. This is the real weaponization of government to censor any speech they dislike and to bring in an era of cancel culture to decimate voices on the left.
It will be Substack with its partners like Lincoln Square and Meidas Touch that will protect our democracy and freedom.
This is why I have supported Lincoln Square from the beginning. I’m praying The Daily Show group of Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert (remember his separate show?), Hasan Minhaj, Trevor Noah (who was the first who warned America about Trump with his photo of him as an African general dictator), and others will continue to poke the Trump in other media. There are opportunities other than CBS, ABC, and NBC. I need to do research who owns what channels .
That is great because I have been dismayed at all the companies, people, firms and universities who have bent the knee.
