I was watching morning Joe and he was going on and on about the fact that Dems have been targeted too. Ok not the problem but what need to be “hammer home” is only two of these acts of violence were also conspiracies! 1/6 and the plot to kidnap Governor Witmar. AND it is only the RIGHT, that celebrates / pardons these terrorist. Maybe this is the point that needs to be “hammered home”. Both sides are not the same, and if there are any organizations that need dismantling; shall we start with the Republican Party?
But they are not going to do it to themselves, and they will tear apart everything they can to maintain power. This is the same desperation that Trump had before the 2024 election. He knows that if he ever loses, he will be going to jail. He will lie and cheat in any and every way that he can to keep that from happening, and all the Republicans are all in on that with him.
You're wrong. He would not go to jail. Everyone would remain sufficiently afraid of his unwashed mobs that no definitive action would really be taken.
Of course, that would change if physics started working again. That is, someone who threatens Thomas Zimmer is tracked down and hurt. That never happens. That's because we are so pure and righteous that we'd rather die in servitude than fight back. The calculus changes instantly when the bully gets a bloody nose, upsides are reconsidered against further downsides.
But no. Let us continue to enjoy this, roll these little balls of shit up in our hands and arrange them in artful forms on the table. The longer we enjoy it, the more of an ultimate reaction there will be from both sides. By all means, they want and are getting their Reichstag Fire. We shouldn't try to prevent it, let it burn. It'll give us more to lament about how helpless we are in the face of their might. Until we're not.
