Protests Basically Stem From One Thing Cheeto Cheated

In seeing the articles that are coming out about how the Nazis aka GOP corrupted the 2024 election I'm thinking that unconsciously the American electorate was cheated out of a free and fair election in 2024 and they are pissed not only because of the authoritarian regime but that they never voted for this bullshit that Trump is pulling as a Unitary Executive ie dictator

Here's a list of sources questioning the 2024 results

Donald Trump is the virtuoso of the dog whistle. You'll never convince me that those assassinations in Minnesota would have happened without the hate vomiting from Trump's mouth into the megaphone of Fox and friends.

Thank you, John, for your idea, too. :) What if we slowly, steadily, and surely change our language to effect cultural changes? For starters, Medical Privacy not the current divisive terms. Pregnancy decisions are between medical professionals and potential parents. Medical Privacy is pro-health, and therefore pro-life. It appeals to all political parties and religions.

Immigrants could have been at the parade in DC without fear of bands of his ICE, goons and thugs disrupting his birthday bash! Thank goodness all other No Kings parades and events were completely peaceful— they couldn’t arrest anyone!!! So glad for all of us! Onward!!! 👍👏👏

Thank you so much for your comment, Wendy—and for uplifting the spirit of the No Kings events. It means a lot to hear that you felt peace, safety, and joy in the midst of everything else going on. That’s exactly what these protests were meant to preserve—a space where community could gather without fear or intimidation.

And you’re right—there’s something powerful about people showing up peacefully despite everything designed to make them feel unsafe. The fact that families, activists, and allies could take to the streets without the looming threat of raids or militarized suppression is a testament to the strength and clarity of the movement.

Thanks again for sharing your voice. Onward indeed. ✊🏽✨

Please focus some attention on the business owners. We can't just be defenders of hardworking immigrants. We must also defend businesses and farmers who depend on their labor. AND we need to talk about real solutions (fixing the pathway to citizenship, border controls, ICE reform or dissolution). Don't just complain, offer up strong fixes that serve everyone needs.

Thank you so much for reading, Sarah—and for supporting the piece. I really appreciate your comment.

You’re absolutely right that we need to talk about real policy solutions: pathway to citizenship, ICE reform, labor protections, and support for the businesses that rely on immigrant labor. It’s not either/or—we can multitask. We have to.

This article just happens to be about the human toll of performative authoritarianism, and how it plays out when people in power use enforcement as a political stunt instead of policy. That doesn’t mean economic impacts or broader immigration reform aren’t critical—it just means this piece focused on the lives caught in the crossfire.

But yes—you’re right to call for substance alongside outrage. Hopefully we get more space to explore both in future pieces.

Thanks again for being part of the conversations.

What he is doing to our city is disgusting. The ramifications will be longstanding harm to our people and our economy. We depend on the very people who are being viciously torn from their homes, livelihoods, families, and make up the beautiful multicultural community that is LA. I don't know if it's true as I've not dove into this yet, but I saw news that they are taking undocumented foster youth from their foster families? Children who have already been subjected to trauma and ripping them from the safety of their foster families? I am so sickened by this.

Ellen, thank you so much for this. It’s powerful to hear from a fellow Angeleno who understands what’s really at stake here. You’re absolutely right—it’s heartbreaking and shameful what’s being done to our city, our communities, and especially the most vulnerable.

The idea that undocumented foster youth could be targeted and ripped from safe environments is beyond cruel—it’s policy weaponized for show. And it’s our neighbors, our families, our culture that bear the cost.

Grateful for your voice in this space. We need more people speaking up from the ground level, not just watching this unfold from a distance.

Horrible is an understatement. Any chance writers can start to refer to Fox as the Fox Channel, Fox Media, or Foxaganda (propaganda), since its lies are hard to fit into the definition of news, which is information not disinformation and lies.

Judith, thank you so much for the support—and for giving Fox the rebrand it truly deserves. “Foxaganda” might just be the most accurate thing said all week. I’m gonna try to squeeze that in somewhere, even if I have to wedge it between sarcasm and a constitutional reference. 😄

Seriously though, I appreciate you reading and engaging. Glad we’re in this fight for truth and better vocabulary together. 🙌🏽🦊🔥

Great idea! I saw somewhere where it was called Fox Propaganda Network. And to go one step further, I think, as a Strategy Session that the group at Lincoln host weekly, ought to be to petition the cable operators to take the Foxaganda off of their network. That's a strategy instead of them just talking over points that have already been through the media several times in the week. After all, they call the segment "Strategy Session".

John, thanks so much for engaging—and for the Fox Propaganda Network rebrand. I might have to start slipping that into casual conversation and see how many heads explode.

And you’re right, their “Strategy Session” segment really does feel like it was storyboarded by a room full of interns watching Newsmax with a hangover. If we’re gonna talk strategy, I say we start by putting “Foxaganda” in the dictionary and work our way up from there. 😄

Appreciate the energy—you’re in good company here.
