A few weeks ago I was at my kitchen table putting together my tax package feeling nothing but futility and disgust knowing that my not insubstantial tax dollars are likely being funneled into one crony or another's bank accounts while they are steadily turning off the lights for the rest of US.

This creep knows he lost to Biden in 2020, knows more people voted against him in that election, and knows that in three elections he's never won a majority of the popular vote. Ripping off the country as he burns down institution after institution is his way of getting revenge on the millions of people he knows despise him. And as for his supporters, the diehard MAGA cult, of course he doesn't care about them either, but he knows they'll never abandon him. Destroying American democracy as a legacy? He has no concept of legacy, and if he did, he wouldn't care anyway.
An appalling and damming summary. So much corruption and self dealing. I feel ill confronting the totality of this administration’s assaults on our country. Can’t wait to vote in November.😡
Thank you for the article, Mr. Eisendrath. Trump administration is stealing from veterans who served their country. We have a Secretary of Veterans Affairs who says Elon Musk and Doge don’t exist. We pay taxes and they expect every time there is a problem we go to our Senators to complain. Senator Marshal showed his true colors by running off after a town hall meeting. Speaker Johnson comment was there just a bunch of paid agitators. These are people who vote for Marshall and of course Senator Moran. I believe during this next election that, Senator Marshal will be given his walking paper out of the Senate. At, least that is what I hope . People are upset and angry, especially about the three deaths of farmers who were refused money that get them through so they could bring their crops to be sold in America. They committed suicide. I guess these Senators are quite uniformed or don’t care about their constituents.
