I will add one more thought: I am glad that European leaders are now aware of the reality they face. In my books, clarity is an absolute good, because when we achieve clarity we can make the most suitable choices.
And, Europe as a huge American-debt holder and trading partner has huge power, more perhaps than we the people do. The top 10% of wealthy Americans now account for 50% of consumer spending. That's always been the driver of our economy. We speak here of "national strikes" but they are extraordinarily difficult to achieve. And now we the 90% wield much-reduced leverage.
Trump only cares about money, and his co-conspirators only care about money. The only thing that will temper the regime's actions quickly enough is economic damage.
