Carney Understands The Death Of Fiat Currency

As past head of Canada's central bank, head of a country with much natural resource, and understanding the relationship of gold and real money, Carney sees the end of fiat currency that was created in 1971

Carney also understands that the fiat currencies of the world will politically be crippled national economies without adequate resources of the metallic standards of gold and silver He sees the future of the US dollar and what will happen when its value falls to zero and understands that only the faith of the people give value to the fiat currency world

This is why Carney sees the end of global hegemons like the US Unlike the US China has been over the last 40y stockpiling gold and silver and now is not letting it out of the country so only one hegemon is left standing This is one of the reasons why Carney was in Beijing making a lasting trade deal The realizations of this creative policy all started with US arrogance For the US it's over

Thanks, Jennifer. Indeed Trump runs CBS news. And Cronkite's ending phrase, "and that's the way it is, sums up CBS so called news.

CBS is another Fox News, and is as such is worthless for an intelligent person to consider newsworthy.

Wonder how happy the murdoch’s are with the Ellison’s coming after their highly prized kingdom of misinformation and misinformation

Is this a call to action? Because, if it is, it's a little watery.

This context- history-free yowling, as loud and repetitious as it is, may not even be relevant. I'm skeptical that it's even new. Weiss and the Ellisons, with their pictures looking all stoogy and billionaire-y, are pretty scary to look at. And old Walter sure looks true-blue and patriotic. But really.

Newscorps, print and broadcast, have been morphing steadily for a quarter-century. The 'death' of mass-market news has been underway long before the golden escalator. Your list of awfulness committed at the hands of Weiss may be impactful in only one specific way: it is gutting the credibility of CBS as a source of news. The CBS Evening News, in just a month, has seen its viewership plummet by... what... 20%, 40%? Americans are not empty vessels into which an oligarch can just pour in their 'reality' of the moment and have it stick*. It's actually our skepticism and orneriness that's been weaponized into creating stampedes away from scientific solutions to health problems. All swords have two edges.

I don't have a problem with exposés like this, necessarily, but I like it fresher than this, this particular one is getting long in the tooth. The New Media (there is a lot) is growing exponentially, driven by the same forces that is killing newspapers and broadcast news. The broadcasters are full of suits telling them that entertainment is where the profits are, they have been smothering news groups over a very long time to free up cash and capacity to serve up lucrative dreck.

So, before getting all misty-eyed about old Walter, ask yourself this: in the age of Trump, would you really prefer only 3 sources of 'news'? Trump and his bros made a play to capture the propaganda machine they understood... from 1960. They were too late. There's a huge, uncontrollable, information infrastructure now that can refute the shit they pump out.

(*While writing, I heard the chorus of screams that MAGA is exactly *that* kind of empty vessel. Yes, you're right. I should have caveated with "except for ignorant rubes too stupid to breathe").

This is a case of sad but totally true! And it drives me crazy. Don't the far right conservatives and MAGA have ENOUGH news/op-ed shows, why can't they leave "main stream" media alone! I'm so sick and tired of all the "deals" that are being made for profit and nothing else!

CBS used to be my news station. Walter Cronkite, Dan Rather, Katie Couric, Scott Pelley, Norah O'Donnell - so many great reporters and news anchors, and I fear for the future of 60 Minutes. I still watch local news on my local CBS affiliate, but worry it may soon be run by Trump acolytes. Thanks to other choices on various streaming services plus my PBS channels I don't bother to watch other CBS shows. Quite a downfall from MASH, All in the Family, and the Paley days.

Once upon a time, I watched CBS and FOX news broadcast out of DC. Anyone that has lived in the Washing DC metro area, knows we were news junkies. Everything centered around the government and knowing what was going on was just a way of life, especially traffic news on the radio. Now, I don't even watch tv news. I gave up on it when Fox turned to opinions, rather than what we could see was going on with the Trump delusional followers. CNN and MSNBC were just as annoying with the opposite view. I've always have been a big believer on reading the Washington Post and the New York Times. Going back and forth between the two gave me a perspective on different views of reporting. Then the days of Katherine Graham were gone and the Washington Post seemed to have lost something. I absolutely hate British news papers. My husband was born in London England and when we were in England, reading them was annoying to say the least. I never, ever felt like I was reading reporting, just sensationalism and made up crap. BBC was always trying to report the news and I did enjoy watching them. They reported more on world news, not just England, and Parliament was always hoot when they took to the stage. I use to hate listening, or reading news based on the republican view point, that was until the Lincoln Project came out. A group of people who took it upon themselves to stand up to the Republican Party of Trump, a party that turned into a den of thieves. I became a solid supporter of the Lincoln Project and saw a dissolution of Republican/Democrat divide. And now the founders of that group have spread out to inform more people of what is going on within our government. I only read AP news stories and am diligent about looking for AI reporting. I keep feeling that AI is more about sensationalism and creating chaos and I don't trust it at all. I am grateful to Lincoln Project and Lincoln Square for the dedication to reporting what they see.

I have written about Bari Weiss in my own substack. She has always been a joke in my opinion, since her NY Times days maybe even before that. She was one of the biggest crybabies during COVID and always acted like Dr. Fauci was personally out nto punish her. She is someone is someone I can’t take seriously

The one thing I'll say about all of these people working to destroy democracy on the periphery is that there will come a day in the not so distant future when they will be tried. They will be tried and they will be punished. Life is cyclical and these fascist cosplay suck-ups aren't smart people. Their turn in hell is coming.

Jennifer Schulze writes "Journalist Elizabeth Spiers describes Weiss as a designated courtier, a feckless water carrier for the 1-percent..." These people, from Bari Weiss to the lickspittles of Trump's cabinet, to creeps like Ellison, Musk, and Bezos--have none of these people ever read a history book? Where do they think this will all end, once our system under Trump--which is rushing forward with uncontrolled speed--finally becomes unsustainable? They may be rich, they may be in positions of power, but they are shallow-minded beyond belief.

Thank you, Ms. Schulze. As Rick Wilson told us, everything djt touches dies.

I quit watching cbs news months ago. Don’t even watch the Sunday propaganda. One can no longer berate them because they have magatized their email. I can’t believe my girl crush nora is still around albeit reduced to beat lady. My how money plays on these billionaires. I never liked margaret which is probably why they keep her. I would never trust her in a school yard brawl, she would fake fight. And why did they wait until February to return my favorite shows. They probably had to re-do them to cut out all the snarkiness against the orange mussolini and his misbegotten sycophants. I guess I’ll have to read my beloved substack more often. I love your work. Please keep it coming.

Thanks for calling this all out. Luckily,we still have choices, and can choose to avoid even looking at CBS. And if we are aware of advertisers supporting it, we can avoid those, too.

On “Morning Joe” yesterday someone said we need a project 2029. I had already started a Facebook page of that name . . .

On the media, or sometimes called the 4th branch, limit ownership to less than 10% with no editorial powers (Bazos WP).

Return the news to the journalist.

Michael Lavering's avatar

In the vein of returning the news to journalists and not political hacks;

“Perjury from the Podium” which I have advocated for, for decades, that the perjury statute and penalties apply to all those with a “podium” once you are a ou lic figure, you have accepted the oath “truth, whole truth and nothing but the truth . . .”
