The past week was a mixed bag of emotions with gun violence; Trump's underhand pitch for a coin toss--that was just weird; good news from Miami; and always concern for the veterans and soldiers serving that are alone or away from their loved ones during the holidays. It is so true that within all the merriment, the holidays can be sad for many who feel alone or are dealing with loss. There can also be soulful feelings for times past--can't dwell there--but these feelings are also real. On a more up-beat note I am reading "Always Share your Iceberg: A Penguin's Guide to Life" by Jamison Odone, a fun book which has lay hidden among all my fun books. I found my mind stuck on your section about veterans. I woke up to the news that 35,000 healthcare jobs were cut from the VA budget by this regime. (My brother gave up a lucrative medical practice to “give back” by working at a VA hospital.) One of my psychotherapy clients today told me her husband (a vet) lost his job working with a VA suicide prevention program because the government grant was cut. We have one hell of a way of expressing gratitude for those who served for us.
Obviously Cheeto is a figurehead, albeit not a very good one, for a larger Nazi Republican movement which seeks to destroy the republic WE the People should not forget that every Nazi that stands behind this regime/movement is at fault This includes not only the sycophants that are making things happen in the Black House but also all the loyalists
It embodies the entire Nazi Republican Congress and the SCOTUS The group is comprised of all the right wing media such as Fox or NewsNation It includes right wing organizations It includes all the wealthy greedy scumbags supporting an opportunity to make more $$ rather than hold the Nazis in power to account
After Cheeto and his Nazi regime has been deposed, like Judas, all will plead with the electorate that they weren’t responsible It was the other guy’s fault That they didn’t want what happened to have happened
These people should not be left off the hook All of the groups above tried to destroy the government and WE the People’s democracy And that includes the Democrats who do not want to screw the Nazi Republicans….WE the People should not and will not forget what a travesty WE experienced There needs to be accountability and doesn’t necessarily mean in a judicial sense It means to not vote or listen to these scumbags, including the wealthy disenfranchised for at least 10 years That’s what happened to Nazi Germany
Evan, I always love your Fourth & Democracy. The most important piece of your weekly newsletter is the one that means the most. Take care of each other. Look out for those who are sheltering in the night, alone. Comfort those that need but never ask. Hug those that require but not inquire. Spread love. Be thankful for what YOU have, but be charitable to others who have less.
We can always be better people, but we need to connect to others for it to be meaningful.

Everyone that cares about saving America and saving our Democracy should read "Invisible Doctrine: The Secret History of Neoliberalism" by George Monbiot and Peter Hutchison. They spell out in detail what we are all up against. It is bad and getting worse everyday if we do not call it out and move to stop it. Everyone is under threat from the Corporations and Oligarchs......and they are grinding through our rights and freedoms and liberty and future......and too many do not even notice how sinister this all is... Please get yourself a copy and encourage everyone you know as well. If we do not stop them, we ALL are in big trouble.......and they are winning........
Yes is it stupidity, naivety or apathy that resistance seems slow? Or maybe a combination. Read anything on Putin or Hitler too, it all seems to be out of their playbook.
