I sent this message to JD Vance through the White House cabinet portal this morning. Feel free to copy and paste it into your own message to the Vice President, if you’re unsure of what to say:
“As a US born citizen, I hereby demand that you, James David Vance do IMMEDIATELY begin proceedings to invoke Article 25 of the United States Constitution to remove Donald J. Trump from the office of the Presidency on grounds that he is UNFIT to lawfully discharge his duties”
I totally agree that the 25th amendment MUST be invoked. We cannot go through the impeachment process. It takes too long and there is too much at stake. Congress has let this mess go on for too long. They need to put on their big boy and big girl pants and get this done! We can engineer a clean sweep as suggested above after we get rid of Trump.
This same dynamic is played out in corporations, organizations, and agencies across the country. Entities hire a leader who is incompetent and self-serving, but who gives the appearance of success and competence. He plays to a base consisting of a combination of ignorant, incompetent, self-interested members who enable him. He promotes and empowers these loyalists, insulating himself from accountability. Those who see the decline are powerless to stop it and the emerging toxic environment. The loyalists begin to see reality but they still benefit from the toxic leader. It is only when the entity ceases to provide dividends and becomes dysfunctional that the toxic leader is removed and healing begins. What can the people do? Document their concerns, voice them to the enablers in a nonthreatening way, build a supportive coalition, present the reality that continuing to enable the toxic leader will be more detrimental than beneficial, and be persistent.
The evidence in front of all of us has grown exponentially. Dr Gardner says continued devolution is predictable The medical issues raging in this man may well consume us all. I’m NOT a devotee of End Times rapture. I want to live this wild life. It feels like a straight jacket of complicity imposed by impostors like MAGA Mike etc etc. and I read the post Beschloss and others have cited and agonized about WHO is in charge of our government? Who is putting out this horrific nonsense?!

It’s getting a majority of his cabinet to agree that he is unable to continue as POTUS is where I see the problem.
Members of his cabinet are actually the ones who are making sure that all of these evil acts are being carried out by their idiot-stick puppet president. They know that they have someone who is so ignorant that as long as they sufficiently stroke his ego, they will get their way. Stephen Miller is one of those people. I do not believe that people like him will ever be on the side of removing Trump.
Like Hitler before him, Trump will take the nation to destruction rather than alter his agenda or admit to error. This is the nature of such men. The Republican lickspittles in his cabinet and in Congress will never admit to their errors (at least not in public), and they are so terrified of his base as to be unable to do so.
And so, like Ahab’s crew, we will have to play this national drama out to its conclusion, whatever that might be. Hopefully there will be more than one Ishmael left to tell the tale.
Trump's cabinet is wholly dependent on him for their power, position and cash flow. Even if he drops nukes on Tehran, or San Francisco, they won't remove him. And forget impeachment, Republicans in the Senate will never do what's needed to restore order or sanity. They fear his violent mob...and a primary challenge from MAGA, that might kick them off the gravy train.
Trump’s cabinet is not smart enough and idolize Trump to invoke the 25th.
Article II Section 4 may be used to impeach the president and the entire executive branch. Requires 2/3 vote by senate. Congress would need to make a law to appoint a new president.
Everyone who reads this column will agree with Mr. Beschloss. Unfortunately he is speaking to the converted. The spineless, cowardly cabinet and GOP Congress will never use the 25th Amendment to remove Trump. It breathtaking watching this country give up 250 years of democracy because NO ONE in a leadership position has the guts to stand up to a former TV game show host, who just happens to be the most shallow and cruel individual ever to hold elected office at the federal level. And as for the MAGA cult that still supports this authoritarian creep: way to go. You sure know how to picke'em.
