Disappointment Is the Only Thing Trump Delivers on Time

It’s all the same janky con, to the same slowcoach audience.

Here we go again.

The MAGA faithful are revving up for another magical mystery tour through the Land of Make-Believe, guided by their favorite orange pied piper, Donald J. Trump. This time, they’ve convinced themselves that finally Barack Obama, James Clapper, James Comey, and a host of other deep-state bogeymen will be hauled into court, tried for treason, and marched off to Gitmo in shackles, or better yet, hoisted on a gibbet on the South Lawn and left as food for crows and kept there pour encourager les autres.

Cue the QAnon fan art, the screaming caps-lock tweets, and the Photoshopped memes of Obama in an orange jumpsuit or Comey being chased by Kash Patel and his deputy Dan Bongdildo.

It’s one more pre-failed attempt to change the subject from Jeffrey-and-Donald’s naked playdates with teenage victims.

Spoiler alert: i;t’s not going to happen … none of it.

This isn’t a new page in the MAGA playbook. It’s a dog-eared, coffee-stained chapter that Trump has turned to every time he’s under pressure. Accuse others of the crimes you’ve committed. Project your guilt onto your enemies. Make big promises to the base about mythical justice just around the corner and later than the hillbilly preacher’s 67th prediction of the Rapture. It’s always just around the corner.

And then he quietly lets the whole thing die when reality refuses to cooperate.

Let’s get one thing straight: there is no credible evidence … none … zip … zero … that Obama, Clapper, or Comey, or anyone else who investigated Russia’s 2016 election interference committed treason. What did they do?
